摘要: Each of the cooling bedclothes, cooling seat cushion, cooling mat, cooling chair, cooling clothing and cooling shoes, to which the present invention is applied, has such a commonized structural feature to form the cooling flow passages in a substantially parallel and planar manner in the portion of such an article adjacent to the body, and utilizes such a commonized cooling effect to cause the ambient air at a temperature lower than the body temperature to flow through the cooling flow passages substantially parallelly to the body surface to thereby cool the body. Namely, the present invention forms, at a location extremely adjacent to the body surface of a person, an air layer having a temperature equal to that in the room without lowering the temperature of the whole room, thereby forcibly increasing the temperature gradient near the body surface to thereby increase the extent of heat release from the body, resulting in feeling of coolness. To form the air layer having the temperature equal to that in the room adjacently to the body surface, it is advisable to form a flow passage of air adjacently to the body surface, and to cause the air in the room to flow through the flow passage parallelly to the body surface. To form the flow passage, each of the embodiments of the present invention adopts a spacer having a suitable configuration.

摘要: The present invention is a facial iron comprising a heating element and separate charging base. The facial iron heating element has a spoon shaped heating surface for applying heat to a users skin. The heating surface is attached to a handle having LED's for indicating the charge state of the heating element. The facial iron is constantly being recharged when it is in the charging base. A thermostatically controlled circuit activates the heating element when the temperature of the heating surface falls below a certain temperature. It activates the heating element when the temperature of the heating element reaches a preset temperature. The invention also comprises a three position switch allowing the invention to be shut off and stored in a charged condition for later use.

摘要: An air conditioning unit for use in the cooling of persons includes a fan secured below the person's neck. A moistened foam necklace may be wrapped around the neck or a moistened foam pad otherwise positioned between the fan and the neck of the user. The fan of the air conditioning unit includes a frame, an electric motor mounted on the frame, a fan blade operably connected with the motor and rotatable by the motor for moving air, a battery or other power source operably connected with the motor for actuation thereof, and a switch operably connected between the battery or power source and the motor for controlling the actuation of the motor. Furthermore, the air conditioning unit includes a flexible element attached to the frame, the flexible element being constructed and arranged to be worn around the user's neck so that air generated by the moving fan blade moves against the neck area after being evaporatively cooled by the foam necklace or pad.

摘要: A motorcycle helmet defines a cavity in a hard fiber shell. A thermo-electric heat pump is mounted in the cavity, and a light metal rediator is bonded to both shell and pump. One way conductors energize the heat pump from a motorcycle battery source to pump heat from the hard fiber shell to the radiator. A flexible blatter filled with heat transfer liquid is mounted in the hard fiber shell and below the heat pump and in thermal contact with a wearer's head and the heat pump, for conducting head heat to the pump to electrically pump to the radiator for radiation to the atmosphere.

摘要: A portable therapeutic heating device is provided that may be readily worn and transported by a user. A flexible heating unit is attached to a body part and is capable of raising the skin temperature of that body part to about 102.degree.-108.degree. F. The flexible heating unit includes a plurality of distinct sets of electric resistance heating elements. The flexible heating unit is connected by a flexible tape to a battery pack which is mounted to the approximate center of gravity of the user's body. A switch is mounted on the battery pack, and provides for selection of which sets of electric resistance heating elements will be energized by a battery received by the battery pack, to thereby vary the amount of heat applied by the heating unit to a body part. The switch is mounted in a cutout formed in a casing defining the battery pack. A pair of rechargeable lead-acid "D" batteries are desirably received by the battery pack, and circuitry is provided for indicating when the voltage of a rechargeable battery received by the battery pack reaches a predetermined value below the rated value of the battery. A printed circuit board is mounted completely covering the batteries in the battery pack casing, between the batteries and the casing top, with all of the necessary electrical components operatively connected to the printed circuit board.
