摘要: A device for delivering a compound to the olfactory region of the nasal cavity includes an actuator body and a tip that removably couples to the actuator body. The actuator body comprises a propellant channel in fluid communication with a propellant canister. The tip comprises an exit channel, an inlet interface, one or more grooves, and an outlet orifice. The exit channel extends between a proximal end and a distal end of the tip. The inlet interface is positioned about a distal end of the exit channel, and the inlet interface couples to a compound container containing the compound. The grooves are positioned about the inlet interface and direct propellant from the propellant channel into the compound container, thereby agitating and entraining the compound in the compound container with the released propellant. The compound and the propellant then travel through the exit channel and out the outlet orifice.

摘要: A method is disclosed for administering medication to conscious or unconscious patients using a device with a tubular chamber. The method involves the use of a device with a tubular chamber, wherein a liquid medication is contained within a capsule. The medication is atomized by activating an atomizer, thereby generating an atomized medication consisting of particles with a maximum diameter of four microns. The atomized medication is then dispensed into the tubular chamber. Using the device, the atomized medication is administered to the patient. In cases of unconsciousness, a resilient air bladder connected to the chamber is partially deflated, allowing air transfer into the chamber. This facilitates the administration of the atomized medication. This method enables effective medication delivery in various emergency scenarios, ensuring appropriate treatment even for unresponsive patients by providing a method of using a device with modular components.

摘要: A method of treating disorders in a human or animal subject may include heating a material containing a compound to a first temperature to form a heated volume of the material. The method may additionally include heating the heated volume to a higher second temperature to form a dose of vapor including the compound. The method may also include administering the dose of vapor to the subject to treat disorders such as pain. The method may further include pre-heating the material to a preliminary temperature prior to the heating to the first temperature. The heating and pre-heating may be performed with a capsule including two covering layers, each including an electrically conductive material, configured to hold the material therebetween and to generate heat by resistive heating.

摘要: Apparatus and methods are described for use with a vaporizer that vaporizes at least one active ingredient of a plant material. In response to receiving a first input to the vaporizer, the plant material is heated, in a first heating step. An indication of the temperature of the plant material is detected, and, in response to detecting an indication that the temperature of the plant material is at a first temperature, the first heating step is terminated, by withholding causing further temperature increase of the plant material. The first temperature is less than 95 percent of the vaporization temperature of the active ingredient. Subsequently, a second input is received at the vaporizer. In response thereto, the plant material is heated to the vaporization temperature, in a second heating step. Other applications are also described.

摘要: A nebulizer comprising a nebulizing chamber with a vibrating mesh grid having a plurality of precision openings and said chamber with a liquid pharmaceutical product in a cartridge contacting the mesh grid for producing particle sizes of two (2) to four (4) microns; and an entrainment port for drawing air into the nebulizing chamber and through the grid. A control circuit, a source of electrical energy in said circuit such as two 1.5 volt lithium titanate batteries connected to said grid for producing vibration. A switch to turn said grid off and on and means for providing a first measured time period of four seconds for taking a first breath of air through the entrainment port and grid and through the thousands of passageways into the lungs and bloodstream of an individual. A second time period during which no vibration occurs. The grid is also self-cleaning as described.
