Abstract:
A reciprocator for traversing a fluid actuated apparatus between retracted and extended positions and for supplying fluid to said apparatus for operation thereof. While the invention is adaptable to various specific configurations, it is illustrated in the context of a die lubricator. A supporting structure includes drive means in the form of a pneumatic cylinder and support means in the form of a plurality of telescoping tubes. The tubes each have a fixed end attached to the supporting structure, an intermediate portion journalled for linear motion in the supporting structure and a free end carrying the fluid actuated apparatus. Fluid supplies are connected to the fixed ends of the telescoping tubes so that, in addition to the support function, the tubes serve as conduits of actuating fluid for the reciprocatable apparatus.
Abstract:
A high pressure nozzle manipulator includes a wheeled chassis, a pair of parallel manipulator elevator rails supported by an elevator rail rotator fastened to the chassis, a horizontal extensible arm rail disposed between and carried by the manipulator elevator rails, a rotary actuator fastened to a distal end of the horizontal extensible arm rail, and a linear actuator fastened between the first rotary actuator and a hinged nozzle support bracket. This bracket holds a high pressure cleaning nozzle. The linear actuator is configured to rotate the nozzle and the bracket through an arc. The elevator rail rotator is configured to rotate the elevator rails through an arc of about 180 degrees about a horizontal axis. The rotary wrist actuator is configured to rotate the hinged nozzle support bracket about a horizontal axis through the extensible arm rail.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a nozzle (1) for applying a coating agent, in particular for applying wax during seam sealing or for applying a preserving agent during cavity preservation on a vehicle body component, with an elongated hollow lance (4) for feeding the coating agent to be applied through the lance (4) along its longitudinal axis (17), as well as at least one nozzle opening (10, 11) for dispensing the coating agent, wherein the nozzle opening (10, 11) is arranged in the lateral surface of the lance (4) and dispenses the coating agent sidewards with respect to the longitudinal axis (17) of the lance (4). It is suggested that the nozzle opening (10, 11) is rotatable about the longitudinal axis (17) of the lance (4), so that the coating agent can be dispensed in different directions according to the angular position of the nozzle opening (10, 11).
Abstract:
A fountain apparatus includes a nozzle and lights which are selectable and moveable in at least two degrees of freedom about axes that are approximately perpendicular. Nozzle movement is preferably controlled by preprogrammed electronics which control movement of the nozzle and selective activation of the lights. Such an automated control system also may control the spray stream velocity. The flow streams are controlled to create a dynamic display which may be synchronized to music or other light shows.
Abstract:
A water sprinkler of a new type has a spray arm which oscillates about a horizontal axis transverse or perpendicular to the length of the spray arm, in a see-saw fashion, to distribute water to a length of the lawn or garden area. Spray nozzles spaced apart on a distortable, peripheral wall along the length of the spray arm in a linear array are adjustable, by twisting the peripheral wall of the arm, to a circumferentially-arrayed, helical or spiral pattern, to distribute water to cover a selected width of the lawn or garden area. Both the angle of the oscillation and the twist of the wall may be selectively varied or adjusted to select respectively the length and the width of the area to be sprinkled. The twist is adjustably-fixed along and about the flow passage, as by an internal twist-setting arm. Also, the spray arm may oscillate about its center or one end thereof, depending on the oscillation mechanism used.
Abstract:
A machine and method are provided for reconditioning pipelines. The machine comprises parts and modules which are easily stowed, manually portable into and out of excavations, and easily installed together to form a machine for reconditioning the outer surface of pipelines. A frame construction capable of assembly around a pipeline is provided. A travel module is attachable to the frame to move the frame along the pipeline. A traction module is attachable to the frame to provide substantially constant traction during travel regardless of surface irregularities. A ring construciton is provided for placement around the pipeline and rotation about rollers attachable to the frame that engage the inside of the ring construction. Retaining arms and reconditioning devices can be mounted on the ring construction and a rotating module is attachable to the frame to engage and rotate or oscillate the ring construction around the pipeline.
Abstract:
Device for spraying liquids comprising a body (1A, 1B) having an inlet passage (2) which can be connected to a feed line (2); a chamber (3) provided in the body and communicating with the inlet passage; an outlet passage (8) which communicates with the chamber (3); a bearing surface surrounding the body portion which contains the chamber (3) and in which the outlet passage emerges; and a nozzle-carrier component (12) mounted rotatably on the bearing surface, carrying at least two nozzles (13) and having orifices disposed in order to place a specific nozzle in communication with the said outlet passage for a suitable position of the said nozzle-carrier component.
