摘要: An anti-collision system for railcars and locomotives provides a distance ranging and worker coupling protection system utilizing remote-sensing radar techniques for use with a locomotive and railcar. The anti-collision system may include an object detector device attached to a railcar or a locomotive that detects objects in a path of the railcar and the locomotive and a train display device electrically connected to the object detector device. The anti-collision system may also include an emergency action device which enables a crew member to stop the railcar or locomotive without communication to a locomotive operator when a hazard is recognized. The object detector device may include a remote sensor, a radio, and a microprocessor programmed to include data-logging to record and log all data from the anti-collision system.

摘要: An apparatus for testing installation of a network equipment onboard a locomotive of a consist is disclosed. The apparatus includes a housing and a test network equipment is disposed within the housing. The test network equipment includes a first port to connect with an output port of the locomotive via a Multiple Unit (MU) cable. The apparatus includes a user interface to connect with a second port of the test network equipment. The test network equipment establishes a communication with the user interface based on a predefined attribute of the user interface. Upon establishing the communication between the test network equipment and the user interface, the user interface is configured to identify the network equipment, establish one or more communication routes with the network equipment, and determine a status of installation of the network equipment onboard the locomotive using the one or more communication routes.

摘要: A system to arm one device with another device on a freight train having a locomotive and a last car is provided. The system comprises an end of train (EOT) device disposed in the last car of the freight train and a head of train (HOT) device disposed in the locomotive of the freight train. The EOT device includes a soft button which is configured to be virtually pressed in response to an electronic command. The HOT device includes a button which is configured to be pressed by a user. A web-based service at a central server is configured to receive an initiate arming sequence command from a wireless communication device of the user and issue the electronic command to the EOT device to virtually press the soft button via a web user interface. The first radio is configured to transmit an arming request message to the HOT device for displaying on the display of the HOT device. The user is prompted to press the button of the HOT device to cause the HOT device to proceed with an arming process with the EOT device.
