The annular chuck base body also comprises a reinforcing ring fitted within the housing and formed from a material whose coefficient of linear thermal expansion is substantially less than that of the housing material.

    摘要: A clutch apparatus is configured such that a first mode, a second mode and a third can be switched among these three modes. In the first mode, the rotating force is not transmitted between the steering-wheel-side housing and the tire-side housing. In the second mode, the steering-wheel-side housing and the tire-side housing are being mutually locked in place and, in this locked state, the rotating force can be transmitted to for the rotation in the both directions. In the third mode, the transmission of the rotating force can be canceled such that while the rotating force can be transmitted, between the steering-wheel-side housing and the tire-side housing, relative to the rotation in one direction, the rotation of either the steering-wheel-side housing or the tire-side housing in the other direction is allowed.

    摘要: A clutch designed to effectively transfer torque between wheel drive system components in a vehicle drive wheel drive system to move the vehicle on a ground surface is provided. The wheel drive system components may include a non-engine drive means and a roller traction drive in torque transmission contact with the clutch and with the vehicle drive wheel. The clutch includes complementarily configured clutch components designed to mesh into engaging contact when activated by electromagnetic or other external engagement actuation means to transfer torque through an interface to a vehicle wheel. Drag and friction produced by activation of adjacent rotating patterned clutch elements amplifies axial forces to cause clutch elements to mesh into locking engagement to control transfer of torque between a non-engine drive means and a roller traction drive system to drive an aircraft landing gear wheel or other vehicle wheel.

    摘要: A magnetic system for controlling the operating mode of an overrunning coupling assembly is provided. The system includes a ferromagnetic or magnetic element received within a pocket in an uncoupling position and is movable outwardly from the pocket to a coupling position. The element controls the operating mode of the coupling assembly. An armature is connected to the element to move the element between the coupling and uncoupling positions. A magnetic field sensor is disposed adjacent and stationary with respect to the element for sensing magnetic flux to produce an output signal which is based on the position of the element. A variable magnetic field is generated in response to movement of the element between the coupling and uncoupling positions.

    摘要: A clutch module which includes a first rotating member including at least one strut actuation module and a second engaged member including cam surfaces thereon for engagement by said strut actuation module. The strut actuation module includes a frame with a strut pivotally movable with respect to the frame. The strut includes an engagement end and a base end including a first side and a second side thereof. A pin or post portion extends from the frame and has an insulated bobbin with an energizable coil surrounding the bobbin. A U-shaped member including a pair of actuation legs is attached to the pin member and forms a magnetic gap between the base end of the strut and peripheral ends of the legs, such that when the coil is energized the peripheral ends of the legs are polarized in a first polarity and the frame and the strut are polarized with an opposite polarity thereby biasing the strut toward the peripheral ends and pivoting the actuation end into engagement with a cam surface of the engagement member.
