Abstract: Techniques for generating and evaluation predictive models to optimize computing applications are described herein. In some embodiments, a system generates, using a model, a first set of scores for a plurality of accounts, wherein a score in first set of scores for a respective account characterizes a priority of interacting with the respective account relative to other accounts in the plurality of accounts, wherein the model defines a set of criteria for scoring accounts, wherein each criterion in the set of criteria is associated with one or more feature values and a weight. The system may receive user input that modifies the set of criteria. Responsive to the user input the system may update the model and generate, using the updated model, a second set of scores for the plurality of accounts. Actions may be prioritized/executed based at least in part on the account scores.

Abstract: In one embodiment a queue of drivers for a particular area is maintained, wherein the queue specifies an order in which drivers are selected for transportation requests from the particular area. A driver is selected from the queue for a first transportation request from the particular area. A placement of the driver within the queue of drivers is determined based on at least one characteristic of the first transportation request. An indication of the placement of the driver within the queue of drivers is communicated to a computing device associated with the driver.

Abstract: A crowd management system includes at least one local controller associated with an attraction area of an individual attraction within a theme park. The crowd management system includes a transceiver of the at least one local controller, where the transceiver receives guests data via wireless signals from guest-associated devices within a detection range of the local controller. The crowd management system includes a remote central controller in communication with the at least one local controller and the guest-associated device. The remote central controller receives the guest data from the at least one local controller and determines one or more crowd metrics of the individual attraction based on the guest data. The remote central controller generates an activity command based on the one or more crowd metrics. The remote central controller transmits the activity command to at least one guest-associated device of the guest-associated devices.

Abstract: A variable refrigerant flow (VRF) system for a building includes an outdoor VRF unit, a plurality of indoor VRF units, a battery, and a predictive VRF controller. The outdoor VRF unit includes powered VRF components configured to apply heating or cooling to a refrigerant. The indoor VRF units are configured to use the heated or cooled refrigerant to provide heating or cooling to a plurality of building zones. The battery is configured to store electric energy and discharge the stored electric energy for use in powering the powered VRF components. The predictive VRF controller is configured to optimize a predictive cost function to determine an optimal amount of electric energy to purchase from an energy grid and an optimal amount of electric energy to store in the battery or discharge from the battery for use in powering the powered VRF components at each time step of an optimization period.

Abstract: An electronic messaging system and method with reduced traceability by separation of display of a media component of message content and header information. An electronic message having an identifier of a recipient and a message content including an image media component is received at a server from a sending user device at which a display for associating the media component with the electronic message is provided without displaying the identifier of a recipient with the media component such that a single screen capture of the identifier of a recipient and the media component is prevented. Abstract: In a collection technique, a user (such as a taxpayer) provides information (such as income-tax information) by submitting an image of a document, such as an income-tax summary or form. Based on the image, the information is extracted, and the field in the form is populated using the extracted information. The prompting, receiving, extracting and populating operations may be repeated for one or more additional fields in the document.
