Abstract:
Systems and techniques for transferring electronic data between users of a communications system by receiving, at an instant messaging host, a video file from a sender and intended for a recipient; authenticating the video file; and sending the video file to the intended recipient.
Abstract:
A method and portable terminal for providing a video communication service are disclosed, in which video and audio data transmitted or received during video communication are recorded and the video and audio data are stored into files by the portable terminal, the files are merged; and the merged files are played. The portable terminal can store images and voices of both users during video communication by successively storing video and audio data, which are transmitted or received, in response to a user's key input and merging the video and audio data into a single file.
Abstract:
An electronic device receives a first subscriber identity module (SIM) card and a second SIM card. The first SIM card and the second SIM card are compatible with a first protocol network and a second network. The electronic device can transmit voice data to a second electronic device via the first protocol network, and upload video data of the electronic device to a server via the second protocol network. The electronic device further downloads video data of the second electronic device from the server via the second protocol network.
Abstract:
A method for providing video telephony is presented. By the method, a telephone directory of a broadcast receiving apparatus can be updated by receiving a telephone directory of a connected external device is provided. A call request signal can be transmitted to an information communication terminal of the user of an external broadcast receiving apparatus when the external broadcast receiving apparatus is turned off. A video telephony mode can change according to whether or not audio signals are transmitted and received when video telephony is connected. The volume of a plurality of windows can each be adjusted separately. As a result, users can utilize video telephony more conveniently.
Abstract:
A communication appliance has a processor, a data store, a display screen, an interface to a wireless network, a microphone, and software executable from a machine-readable physical medium, wherein the software provides a function for comparing incoming audio signals with signals stored in the data store as trigger signals, and a function for initiating an action or sequence of actions in response to recognizing an incoming signal as a trigger signal.
Abstract:
A presence aware communications system, comprising a messaging system configured to perform at least one of the following operations: (a) provide a subscriber's communication device with information regarding an incoming contact during a messaging session between the subscriber's communication device and the messaging system; (b) provide the subscriber's communication device with a text message containing information regarding one or more messages when a notification is received that the subscriber's communication device is available; (c) provide the subscriber's communication device with a text message relating to a voice message from a different first party received by the messaging system; (d) in response to the subscriber's communication device requesting a connection with at least one of an inputted telephone number and address, provide the subscriber's communication device with a notification respecting at least one eligible message from a second party associated with the at least one of an inputted telephone number and address; (e) while a contact between the subscriber and a different third party is in progress, provide the subscriber's communication device with information respecting the at least one eligible message from the third party; (f) transform an audio messaging session between the messaging system and the communication device of a contacting party into a graphical user interface-based audio session; and (g) transform the audio messaging session into a session having a video channel or both audio and video channels.
Abstract:
The invention comprises a method and apparatus for providing multimedia content to a calling party device. Specifically, the method comprises receiving a multimedia ringback service request in response to a connection request for establishing a connection between the calling party device and a called party device, determining an address associated with the calling party device in response to the multimedia ringback service request, identifying the multimedia content associated with the multimedia ringback service request, and establishing at least one multimedia session with the calling party device using the address where the at least one multimedia session is operable for providing the multimedia content towards the calling party device contemporaneously with establishing the connection.

A presence aware communications system, comprising a messaging system configured to perform at least one of the following operations:(a) provide a subscriber's communication device with information regarding an incoming contact during a messaging session between the subscriber's communication device and the messaging system;(b) provide the subscriber's communication device with a text message containing information regarding one or more messages when a notification is received that the subscriber's communication device is available;(c) provide the subscriber's communication device with a text message relating to a voice message from a different first party received by the messaging system;(d) in response to the subscriber's communication device requesting a connection with at least one of an inputted telephone number and address, provide the subscriber's communication device with a notification respecting at least one eligible message from a second party associated with the at least one of an inputted telephone number and address;(e) while a contact between the subscriber and a different third party is in progress, provide the subscriber's communication device with information respecting the at least one eligible message from the third party;(f) transform an audio messaging session between the messaging system and the communication device of a contacting party into a graphical user interface-based audio session; and(g) transform the audio messaging session into a session having a video channel or both audio and video channels.
Abstract:
A terminal and a method for prompting service failure in the video telephone service are disclosed, and the terminal comprises a processing module, a storing module and a setting module which are connected orderly. Said terminal sets and stores the corresponding relationship between different failure prompt information and prompting modes according to the user's command, and when the terminal receives a video telephone call request and the called user performs the failure prompting operation, the terminal generates a call failure prompt message according to the preset failure prompt information and the prompting mode corresponding to said failure prompt information and sends it to the calling user. After the calling user terminal receives said call failure prompt message, it analyzes and acquires the failure prompt information and the corresponding prompting mode, and displays and/or plays the failure prompt information to the calling user according to the prompting mode.
