Abstract: One example method for music collaboration using virtual conferencing includes receiving, by a client device, audio streams associated with a plurality of musicians in a virtual conference, each musician assigned to a virtual position within a virtual space established by the virtual conference, the client device associated with a participant in the virtual conference, the participant having a participant virtual position within the virtual space; determining relative virtual positions of each musician of at least a subset of the plurality of musicians in the virtual conference with respect to the participant virtual position; generating a plurality of spatialized audio streams based on the relative virtual positions of the respective musicians and the respective audio streams; and outputting the spatialized audio streams.

Abstract: Embodiments are described for an adaptive audio system that processes audio data comprising a number of independent monophonic audio streams. One or more of the streams has associated with it metadata that specifies whether the stream is a channel-based or object-based stream. Channel-based streams have rendering information encoded by means of channel name; and the object-based streams have location information encoded through location expressions encoded in the associated metadata. A codec packages the independent audio streams into a single serial bitstream that contains all of the audio data. This configuration allows for the sound to be rendered according to an allocentric frame of reference, in which the rendering location of a sound is based on the characteristics of the playback environment (e.g., room size, shape, etc.) to correspond to the mixer's intent. The object position metadata contains the appropriate allocentric frame of reference information required to play the sound correctly using the available speaker positions in a room that is set up to play the adaptive audio content.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems and methods for augmented reality multi-view telepresence. An embodiment takes the form of a method that includes obtaining a session geometry of a multi-location telepresence session that includes a first-location participant at a first location and a second-location participant at a second location, each location having respective pluralities of cameras and display segments. The method includes selecting, according to the session geometry, both a first-to-second-viewpoint second-location camera from the plurality of second-location cameras as well as a first-to-second-viewpoint first-location display segment from the plurality of first-location display segments. The method includes receiving a first-to-second-viewpoint video stream captured by the selected first-to-second-viewpoint second-location camera, and further includes generating a line-of-sight augmented-reality experience for the multi-location telepresence session at least in part by rendering the received first-to-second-viewpoint video stream via the selected first-to-second-viewpoint first-location display segment.

Abstract: An example computing device is configured to: display an interface that enables configuration of an audio subsystem within a local media playback system and includes one or more configuration options for the audio subsystem based on available playback devices of the local media playback system; receive a first input indicating a selection of a given configuration that comprises a given number of component playback devices each having a respective playback role; determine a set of playback devices that are available for selection as the component playback devices; display a respective visual representation for each component playback device; receive a respective input selecting a given playback device for each component playback device; configure the audio subsystem in accordance with the given configuration based on the selected playback devices; and cause the playback devices in the audio subsystem to play back audio content in synchrony based on their respective playback roles.

Abstract: A method for generating a bitstream indicative of an object based audio program is described. The bitstream comprises a sequence of containers. A first container of the sequence of containers comprises a plurality of substream entities for a plurality of substreams of the object based audio program and a presentation section. The method comprises determining a set of object channels. The method further comprises providing a set of object related metadata for the set of object channels. In addition, the method comprises inserting a first set of object channel frames and a first set of object related metadata frames into a respective set of substream entities of the first container. Furthermore, the method comprises inserting presentation data into the presentation section.

Abstract: The present disclosure discloses an acoustic output apparatus. The acoustic output apparatus may include at least one acoustic driver. The at least one acoustic driver may generate sound that is output through at least two sound guiding holes. Further, the acoustic output apparatus may include a supporting structure. The supporting structure may be configured to support the at least one acoustic driver. A baffle may be disposed between the at least two sound guiding holes. The baffle may increase an acoustic distance from at least one sound guiding hole of the at least two sound guiding holes to a user's ear.
