Abstract:
A device for providing the running surfaces of the cylinders of internal combustion engines with a reinforcing coating. (e.g., a nickel dispersion layer including silicon carbide). The device is designed to hold and convey the cylinder block using a flow-trough process, and includes a baseplate (2) in which a pump (9) and the supply and discharge equipment (4-6) for the bath liquors are integrated. The device is transportable and enables the device to be used over a series of conventional treatment liquor baths.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a glue injector for repairing the cracks on concrete and the process of injection, especially in that the glue in the injector is pushed by the gaseous pressure of carbon dioxide produced by the reaction of chemical decomposition into the crack of concrete. An aqueous solution of citric acid is arranged in the pressure chamber on the top of the injector in this invention, a sodium bicarbonate tablet is placed into the pressure chamber through the aperture thereon, and carbon dioxide gas is gradually released by the reaction of chemical decomposition caused by mixing these two media. The increasing gaseous pressure is used to push the piston in the injector, and push the glue in front of the piston into the crack.
Abstract:
A linear actuated sealant applicator pump for pumping a sealant into an aperture prior to installation of a fastener in that aperture. An air driven linear actuator translates a cam plate carrying a sealant applicator head from a first position in a first direction spaced from and slightly out of vertical alignment with the aperture to which sealant is to be applied. An adjustable stop limits the translation of the cam plate and injector pump. The actuator then continues in the first direction causing the cam plate to follow a cam slot translating the sealant applicator head in a second direction normal to the first direction toward and in vertical alignment with the aperture with the head engaging the edges of the aperture. The engagement of the head with the edges of the aperture prevents further translation of the sealant applicator head into the aperture. The linear actuator continues to move the cam plate along the cam slot after head and aperture edge engagement causing the cam plate to continue to follow the cam slot resulting in the sealant applicator head being forced to translate upwardly in reverse to the second direction providing a pumping action within the applicator head which pumps a pre-selected amount of sealant from the sealant applicator head into the aperture. The linear actuator when reaching a maximum first direction translation position reverses its direction.
Abstract:
A device for injecting a fixing agent for anchoring a fastening element in a drilled hole comprises a sealable container which contains one component of the fixing agent, an injection nozzle, and a plunger which can be pushed into the container. The injection nozzle is arranged on the plunger and the total length of the plunger and the injection nozzle corresponds at least to the depth of the inner space in the container. Around the injection nozzle is provided a sleeve which starts from the base of the plunger. The sleeve is filled with a further component of the fixing agent. The open end face of the sleeve is sealed by a cover having a frangible opening.
Abstract:
High speed pipe lining is accomplished by supporting a length of pipe to be lined between spindles in a lathe-type apparatus and rotating the pipe at a speed sufficient to afford a G-force of the order of 10-15 G's. A rather fluid concrete mixture comprising gap-graded sand is introduced into the interior of the rotating pipe using a cantilevered trough. The rotational speed of the pipe is then increased substantially to afford a force of the order of 35-50 G's, and the pipe is subjected to high amplitude axial vibrations for a period of time of the order of one minute or less. The resulting concrete lining is highly compacted, quite dense and hard, and has a smooth surface.
Abstract:
A sealant applicator for applying a thin film donut like ring of sealant in and around the top of a rivet hole prior to the installation of a rivet and immediately after the rivet hole has been drilled. The applicator is characterized by having an air operated probe assembly which is held in a retracted position with the center line of the probe displaced from the center line of the rivet hole while the hole is being drilled. Upon the completion of the drilled hole the probe assembly is immediately moved into alignment with the center line of the hole and lowered onto the work piece and a premeasured amount of sealant is uniformly applied to the top of the hole prior to the assembly being retracted and the rivet installed.
Abstract:
A method for coating the internal threads of a fastener includes a rotatable base for holding the fastener, and an applicator having a discharge orifice extending through its side wall which contacts the internal threads at a single point of tangency, the axis of the applicator being offset from the rotational axis of the base. Thus, an induced side load force is created at the point of tangency for effecting the pressing of discharged sealant into the roots of the threads. Differently sized internally threaded elements can be coated in accordance with the invention while using the same sealant applicator.
Abstract:
A pipeline pig for lining pipe lines with an internal coating of a solidifying plastic composition with which the pipe line is spread by means of the pig, the pipeline pig having at least one spreader body and at least one forward and one rear guide body. The guide body comprises at least three narrow, resiliently elastic guide pieces bent into U-form comprising a middle part with forward and rear U-legs at the ends and rounded transitions from the middle part to the U-legs, the middle parts extending in the axial direction of the pipeline pig for guidance of the pipeline pig in the pipe line by abutment on the inner wall of the pipe line and being offset in relation to one another in the circumferential direction, the forward U-legs being non-displaceably secured in the axial direction in the pig and the rear U-legs being displaceably mounted in the axial direction in the pig and secured to a common bearing.
Abstract:
The walls of an orifice in a board are coated by a rod or tube which touches or dips into a liquid below the board. The walls are coated either by a capillary effect or by moving the rod or tube through the orifice. Several rods and/or tubes may be attached to a single holder for coating a plurality of selected orifices simultaneously.
