Abstract:
An adhesive applying device includes a robot including a robot arm; a rotor set jig for setting thereat a rotor; a gun including a holder to which a cartridge containing the adhesive is mountable, the gun discharging the adhesive in the cartridge mounted to the holder and being mountable to an end of the robot arm; an electromagnetic valve that performs on/off switching control of supply of compressed air at a predetermined pressure into the cartridge mounted to the holder of the gun; a robot controller that controls an operation of the robot; and an upper-order controller that coordinates and controls the on/off switching control performed by the electromagnetic valve and the control of the operation of the robot performed by the robot controller.
Abstract:
A system and method for coating an endoprosthesis involves an applicator capable of delivering a coating substance to the endoprosthesis without spraying. The applicator may have a tube or die through which a coating substance is moved upwards by capillary action or by means of a pump so as to form an accumulation of the coating substance at an upper portion of the applicator. The endoprosthesis can be lowered onto the accumulation, then axially translated or rotated in order to transfer the coating substance to selected portions of the endoprosthesis. The applicator is lowered and/or the endoprosthesis is raised in order to form gaps in the coating. Selective coating of abluminal or luminal surface of the endoprosthesis may also be performed by allowing the surface to skip on a liquid surface of a pool of the coating substance.
Abstract:
Methods for coating medical devices for implantation within a body vessel are provided comprising providing a cylindrical container, placing a medical device inside the cylindrical container, and applying a polymer in liquid form inside the container.
Abstract:
An apparatus for application of material to the internal surface of cylindrical items of manufacture. The apparatus includes a frame, a transport system having work stations supporting the items, an application system, and a curing system for curing the material applied to the cylindrical items. The application system includes a drive roll, movable into engagement with the item for rotating the item, a coating roll movable between a position engaging the internal surface of the item to apply the desired material, and a position engaged with a reservoir system having a rotating supply roll for supplying the coating roll with material.
Abstract:
An apparatus for painting the inner surface of the welded side seam of a can body with its top and bottom open. The apparatus uses an applicator roll having an annular projection with an acute vertical angle formed in the middle and both edges of the outer periphery.
Abstract:
A sealant nozzle for applying sealant to the countersink surface of a drilled countersunk hole, the nozzle configuration including a circumferential groove on a conical surface for depositing the sealant in a confined region within the countersink, and a pilot portion for insertion into a bore associated with the countersink.
Abstract:
An apparatus is provided for applying liquid to solid surfaces to which access may be limited or restricted. Liquid is continuously fed to an applicator where the liquid clings to a supporting surface to form a bead defining an outwardly exposed meniscus protruding beyond the applicator. The applicator is moved along the surface in a proximate relationship thereto which brings the protruding meniscus into contact with the surface to wipe liquid onto the surface, the applicator all the while being spaced a slight but noncritical distance from the surface. A portion of the liquid wiped onto the surface is immediately aspirated from the surface by suction applied through the applicator to leave on the surface a deposit of liquid controlled in quantity by the degree of aspiration accompanying the wiping of liquid onto the surface. The continuous aspiration of liquid from the liquid bead forming the protruding meniscus on the applicator prevents dripping of liquid from the applicator and functions in conjunction with continuous feeding of liquid to the meniscus to provide a continuous circulation of liquid on the applicator, even when it is awaiting usage, with no fouling of the applicator and no stagnation or deterioration of the liquid on the applicator.
