    摘要： A program generator allows a user to create a software program capable of being executed by a remote labeler to control the printing of one or more labels and to control data collection operations thereof. The program generator stores a user entered sequence of commands selected from a set of commands that control label printing and data collection operations. The stored sequence of commands is validated in accordance with the program generator such that each command entered by the user is compared to a set of allowable commands to determine whether the command is valid or not. During the validation of each of the commands, the program generator determines whether the parameters of the command define allowable data manipulation operations to be performed by the labeler. If not, the program generator provides an error message that identifies the particular command and the error associated with the command. The program generator allows various application files to be selectively linked together to form an application program. Further, when downloading an application file to a labeler, the program generator automatically determines whether the application program requires a look-up file. If so, the program generator creates the necessary look-up file.

    摘要： A printing/applicator station (10) for use in for printing labels and attaching labels to unlabeled objects (11) at a rate of at least 200 objects per minute includes conveyors (12, 13) feeding the objects (11) at a rate of at least 200 objects per minute past a labeling machine (24) that applies labels at a rate of at least 200 per minute. The objects (11) are then fed past a printing machine (15) at the rate of at least 200 per minute. A supervisory computer (16) stores information corresponding to different titles and different customers, and transmits this information over a network (17) to the printer (15), where it is printed on the labels (37) already attached to the objects. One of the conveyors (12) is oriented at an angle of approximately twenty degrees from perpendicular to the first conveyor (13) to support the objects as they are fed at high speed. This conveyor (12) is also adjustable in a direction transverse to the direction for feeding the objects, for handling objects of different thicknesses of objects, such as video tapes, CD's and cassette tapes.

    摘要： A system for applying corrective mailing labels to documents and the like wherein a plurality of labels are releasably carried in sequential fashion on an elongated flexible substrate. The system includes a label printing station, a label applying drum, and label stripper means including a stripper blade having a free end disposed adjacent the drum and about which the substrate is guided so as to undergo a relatively abrupt reversal in direction. A substrate tractor drive downstream from the stripper blade normally pulls the substrate under tension about the free end of the stripper blade to effect release of labels from the substrate for application to predetermined envelopes, the substrate tractor drive being selectively operable to create a substrate loop path immediately downstream from the free end of the stripper blade to prevent release of an incorrect label from the substrate.

    摘要： According to the present invention, there is used a conveyance roller for the conveyance of a pasteboard with labels; a separating member is disposed on a downstream side from a pasteboard conveyance path with respect to a printing head which holds the pasteboard with labels between the same and a platen, and in a position close to the printing head; and a pinch roller is provided for holding between the same and the conveyance roller the pasteboard portion which has been bent and separated from a label after printing by the separating member. The conveyance of the pasteboard with labels for printing and the conveyance of the pasteboard for label separating can be done at a time by driving either the conveyance roller or the pinch roller.
