Abstract: An ENUM/DNS system with enhanced processing efficiency is provided. Provided is an ENUM/DNS system including an ENUM/DNS client that performs a connection destination information query indicating a connection destination associated with a telephone number of a destination terminal added to a connection request transmitted from an originating terminal, and an ENUM/DNS server that receives the connection destination information query and outputting the connection destination as a connection destination information query response. The ENUM/DNS server includes a determination unit configured to determine an attribute of the originating terminal based on the connection destination information query, and a conversion unit configured to convert a SIP domain included in REGEXP of the connection destination information query response to a SIP domain indicating the connection destination based on the attribute.

Abstract: A uniform protocol can facilitate secure, authenticated communication between a controller device and an accessory device that is controlled by the controller. An accessory and a controller can establish a pairing, the existence of which can be verified at a later time and used to create a secure communication session. The accessory can provide an accessory definition record that defines the accessory as a collection of services, each service having one or more characteristics. Within a secure communication session, the controller can interrogate the characteristics to determine accessory state and/or modify the characteristics to instruct the accessory to change its state.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for supporting efficient and secure “Machine-to-Machine” (M2M) communications using a module, a server, and an application. A module can communicate with the server by accessing the Internet, and the module can include a sensor and/or an actuator. The module, server, and application can utilize public key infrastructure (PKI) such as public keys and private keys. The module can internally derive pairs of private/public keys using cryptographic algorithms and a first set of parameters. A server can authenticate the submission of derived public keys and an associated module identity. The server can use a first server private key and a second set of parameters to (i) send module data to the application and (ii) receive module instructions from the application. The server can use a second server private key and the first set of parameters to communicate with the module.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus, including computer program products, are provided for transport method selection of asynchronous notifications. In some example embodiments, there may be provided a method that includes sending, by a client, a hypertext transfer protocol request for at least one asynchronous notification to be sent by a server to the client, the hypertext transfer protocol request including at least one proposed transport method for carrying the at least one asynchronous notification; determining, by the client, whether a first transport method selected by the server from the at least one proposed transport method is successfully established; and when the determination is that the first transport method is not established successfully, sending, by the client, another hypertext transfer protocol request to the server, the other hypertext transfer protocol request including at least one other proposed transport method. Related systems, methods, and articles of manufacture are also described.

Abstract: A method of transmitting messages from a sender to a recipient over a wireless channel, the messages including a sequence counter and a frame counter. The method comprises establishing initial values of the sequence counter and the frame counter at the sender. Initial values of the frame counter and the sequence counter are provided to the recipient. The sender sends compressed messages including the value of the sequence counter and not the frame counter and monitors for an acknowledgement of receipt by the recipient. When no acknowledgment is received, the sender sends uncompressed messages until an acknowledgement of receipt is received from the recipient. The sequence counter is incremented and the next value of the frame counter is established as the integer next larger than previous value of the frame counter which is congruent to the sequence counter modulo 256.

Each room has one or more in-room media devices located therein for performing a media function. A connection port allows a user of a room to establish data communications between the media system controller and a guest device. The media system controller is coupled to the connection port and configured to catalogue guest content available on the guest device to thereby form a guest content list, associate the guest content with one or more associated rooms at least including the user's room, and perform the media function utilizing content selected from the guest content list only on the in-room media devices located within the one or more associated rooms.

Abstract: A wireless gateway for steering a client device between content streaming apparatuses in a wireless local area network (WLAN). The gateway provides an access point (GW AP) including a gateway steering controller configured to determine whether a client device should be steered to a content streaming apparatus based on at least one sample measurement on received signal strength between the client device and the content streaming apparatus and at least one other content streaming apparatus, and conduct steering logic calculations. The steering logic calculations are compared against predetermined thresholds, and said gateway steering controller provides an instruction to steer the client device to one of the content streaming apparatuses based on a difference between the steering logic calculations and the predetermined thresholds. Optionally, the gateway steering controller may also provide band steering as well as signal strength steering.
