    摘要: A continuous process for producing a nylon salt solution prepared using a liquid partially balanced acid solution enriched in dicarboxylic acid, and in particular adipic acid. The liquid feed is prepared by metering dicarboxylic acid powder, based on weight, from a loss-in-weight feeder to a feeding conduit that transfers the dicarboxylic acid powder into an in-line disperser; feeding a first feed stream of diamine to the in-line disperser to form a dispersion comprising between 32 wt. % and 46 wt. % dicarboxylic acid, between 11 wt. % and 15 wt. % diamine, and between 39 wt. % and 57 wt. % water, and heating the dispersion at temperature between 50 C and 60 C to form a partially balanced acid solution. A nylon salt solution is prepared from the liquid partially balanced acid solution and continuously withdrawn into a storage tank. The nylon salt solution has a uniform pH and is suitable for producing nylon polymers.

    摘要: In the hydrocyanation reaction of butadiene proceeding through pentenenitriles to adiponitrile, catalysis by complexes of zerovalent nickel with bidentate phosphorus-based ligands of the NiL2A type wherein L2 is a bidentate ligand and A is an unsaturated compound, can be rate-limited by the solubility of the catalytic complex. The present invention concerns solvent compositions for the nickel-ligand complex comprising mixtures of unsaturated nitriles that provide for increased metal solubility, particularly in the absence of a Lewis acid promoter, resulting in higher hydrocyanation reaction rates in an industrial-scale process for production of important nylon manufacturing intermediates. The mixed nitrile solvent compositions can include mixtures of pentenenitriles and/or methylbutenenitriles. The mixtures of mixed unsaturated nitriles can be, at least in part, from recycle streams from the hydrocyanation reaction for which the nickel-bidentate ligand complexes are used as catalysts.

    摘要: An improved method for recovering a purified polyether polyol comprising the steps of providing an aqueous solution of a polyether polyol containing an alkali metal catalyst residual formed from a transesterification process, contacting the aqueous solution with a stoichiometric excess of magnesium sulfate to form a second aqueous solution, removing water from said second aqueous solution at a temperature above the melt temperature of said polyether polyol to produce a dehydrated slurry containing a molten polyether polyol phase essentially free of residual alkali metal and a precipitated solid phase comprising sulfate and/or sulfite salts of the alkali metal catalyst, magnesium hydroxide, and excess magnesium sulfate and/or sulfide, passing the dehydrated slurry of through a filtration system comprising a filtration press to separate the molten polyether polyol phase from the precipitated solid phase, wherein the filtration press is treated with a filter aid that is essentially free of transition metal oxide content, separating the molten polyether polyol phase substantially free of water, residual alkali metal catalyst and transition metal contaminants from the precipitated solid phase and recovering polyether polyol from the separated polyether polyol phase.
