摘要: An electrochemical apparatus includes an electrolyte, where the electrolyte includes a carboxylate compound and fluoroethylene carbonate (FEC). Based on a total weight of the electrolyte, percentages of the carboxylate compound and FEC are w1 and w2 respectively, where 5%≤w1≤60%, 2%≤w2≤12%, and 2≤w1/w2≤20. The electrochemical apparatus delivers excellent fast charging performance and high-temperature interval cycle performance.

摘要: Disclosed is a method for inhibiting the formation of by-products from dinitriles, such as the formation of cyclopentylideneimine (CPI) from Adiponitrile (ADN), comprising adding an effective amount of a Brønsted acid to the ADN. Also disclosed is a method of refining a dinitrile compound by distillation the method comprising the steps of: (a) supplying (i) a feedstream comprising the dinitrile compound and (ii) a Brønsted acid to a distillation apparatus; and (b) withdrawing from the distillation apparatus an overhead distillate stream comprising the dinitrile compound.

摘要: The invention provides methods useful in the industrial scale process for hydrocyanation of butadiene to adiponitrile for recycle of unwanted byproduct 2-methyl-3-butenenitrile (2M3BN) by conversion to process intermediate pentenenitrile. The invention provides a process for generating catalysts useful for carrying out the hydrocyanation of butadiene to adiponitrile, the process comprising contacting the 2M3BN and a solution of a nickel-ligand catalyst in cis-2-pentenenitrile (cis-2PN), trans-2-pentenenitrile (trans-2PN), or a mixture thereof. The improved methods of the invention can provide improved catalyst solubility for bidentate ligands without a requirement for a Lewis acid catalyst promoter such as zinc chloride to be present.

摘要: An integrated process for making di-functional or multi-functional molecules with concurrent light paraffin upgrading is disclosed. The process involves three primary steps: (1) oxidation of an iso-paraffin to alkyl hydroperoxide and alcohol; (2) converting the alkyl hydroperoxide and alcohol to dialkyl peroxide; and (3) coupling functional molecules into di-functional or multi-functional molecules using the dialkyl peroxide as a radical initiator, while the dialkyl peroxide is converted to a tertiary alcohol. The functional molecules include any functional molecule R—X, where R is a hydrocarbyl group and X is a functional group such as —OH, —CN, —C(O)OH, —NH—, or the like.

摘要: Disclosed are catalysts comprised of platinum and gold. The catalysts are generally useful for the selective oxidation of compositions comprised of a primary alcohol group and at least one secondary alcohol group wherein at least the primary alcohol group is converted to a carboxyl group. More particularly, the catalysts are supported catalysts including particles comprising gold and particles comprising platinum, wherein the molar ratio of platinum to gold is in the range of about 100:1 to about 1:4, the platinum is essentially present as Pt(0) and the platinum-containing particles are of a size in the range of about 2 to about 50 nm. Also disclosed are methods for the oxidative chemocatalytic conversion of carbohydrates to carboxylic acids or derivatives thereof. Additionally, methods are disclosed for the selective oxidation of glucose to glucaric acid or derivatives thereof using catalysts comprising platinum and gold. Further, methods are disclosed for the production of such catalysts.

摘要: An improved multi-reaction zone process provides improved nitrile product quality and yield. In a first reaction zone, 1,3-butadiene is reacted with hydrogen cyanide in the presence of a catalyst to produce pentenenitriles comprising 3-pentenenitrile and 2-methyl-3-butenenitrile. In a second reaction zone, 2-methyl-3-butenenitrile, recovered from the first reaction zone, is isomerized to 3-pentenenitrile. In a third reaction zone, 3-pentenenitrile recovered from the first and second reaction zones is reacted with hydrogen cyanide in the presence of a catalyst and a Lewis acid to produce adiponitrile. Unwanted production and build-up of dinitriles, including methylglutaronitrile, in the first reaction zone for the hydrocyanation of 1,3-butadiene is prevented by limiting the flow of Lewis acid into the first reaction zone.

摘要: Provided herein are processes for preparing caprolactam from a starting material such as one or more of the cis,cis-, cis,trans- and trans,trans-double-bond isomers of muconamide, muconic acid ester, or muconic acid. The starting material, intermediates, and caprolactam prepared therefrom can contain carbon atoms derived from biomass containing detectable 14C content determined according to ASTM D6866 and optionally containing a 14C content up to 0.0000000001% (one part per trillion). Caprolactam so prepared can be used to make various polyamides.

摘要: A hydrocyanation reaction is used to react 1,3-butadiene with hydrogen cyanide in the presence of a catalyst to produce pentenenitriles, as well as reaction byproducts, such as methylglutaronitrile (MGN). The effluent from the hydrocyanation reaction is distilled in a particular manner to produce a pentenenitrile-enriched stream, a catalyst-enriched stream and a stream enriched in methylglutaronitrile (MGN). At least a portion of the catalyst enriched stream may be recycled to the hydrocyanation reaction. 3-pentenenitrile may be recovered and, optionally, further reacted with HCN to make adiponitrile (ADN).

The method can be implemented in a single step, or the glycerol can be previously submitted to a dehydration step. The acrylonitrile thus obtained meets the requirements of green chemistry.
