    摘要: A substrate having a coding pattern disposed on a surface thereof is disclosed. The coding pattern has target elements defining a target grid. The target grid has cells. A plurality of data elements are contained in each cell. Tags are defined by a plurality of contiguous cells and each tag has respective local tag data encoded by a respective set of the data elements. Each cell contains translation data encoded by a respective set of data elements. The translation data identifies a translation of the cell relative to the tag containing that cell.

    摘要: This invention relates to a dice placement assembly for placing dice on a carrier. The assembly includes a support platform with a clamp mechanism configured to clamp the carrier onto said platform, and at least one camera operatively directed at the platform to detect alignment fiducials on the carrier. The assembly also includes a placement device having a vacuum mechanism to retrieve the dice from a supply mechanism, said placement device having actuators to align the dice with the carrier and to place the dice thereon once aligned, and a heater to heat the dice prior to placement on the test bed. Further included is a controller operatively controlling the clamp mechanism, the camera and the placement device, to facilitate accurate placement of the dice on the carrier.

    摘要: A printing system is provided having a support structure, a print media drive mechanism mounted to the support structure and a media cartridge removably received by the support structure. The media cartridge has a casing housing a roll of print media and a print media delivery arrangement. The casing has a door which is arranged to be opened to enable the print media delivery arrangement to couple with the print media drive mechanism for feeding the print media from the roll. The print media drive mechanism has a pivotal carrier, a first drive motor arranged to impart pivotal drive to the carrier, a primary drive roller mounted to the carrier to engage the roll of print media when the door in the cartridge is open, a second drive motor arranged to impart rotary drive to the primary drive roller, and a third drive motor which engages a drive roller of the print media delivery arrangement.

    摘要: A printhead is provided having a plurality of ejection nozzles defined in an array along a substrate. Each nozzle has a wall portion bounding a respective fluid inlet defined in the substrate, a crown portion defining an ejection port, a skirt portion depending from the crown portion to form part of a peripheral wall of the nozzle, and an actuator. The crown and skirt portions are displaceable with respect to the wall portion to alter a volume of a fluid chamber defined by the wall, crown and skirt portions such that when the volume is altered, fluid is ejected from the ejection port. The crown portion defines a rim surrounding the ejection port so as to facilitate formation of a meniscus of the fluid. The actuator causes the displacement of the crown and skirt portions.

    摘要: Provided is a printhead assembly including a printhead module having a plurality of modular printhead tiles with each tile having a plurality of micro-electromechanical nozzle assemblies for operatively printing on a printing medium. The printhead assembly also includes a ducting assembly having a laminated stack of layers, each layer of the stack having a number of apertures which, when the layers are stacked, provide ducts whereby ink is able to flow from an ink reservoir to the nozzle assemblies. The assembly further includes a number of electrical connector assemblies for operatively connecting the respective printhead tiles. Each tile is mounted to a modular support defining a raised portion and a recessed portion at an end thereof, the tile having electrical connecting strips which overlie the respective recessed portions. The connector assembly includes a connecting member having a series of parallel spaced conducting strips, the member shaped and configured for fitment into a cavity defined by the raised and recessed portions of two abutting supports to connect the connecting strips of two tiles via said conducting strips.

    摘要: An inkjet printer comprising a printer body and a replaceable printhead cartridge is disclosed. The printhead cartridge has a casing that supports a printhead and a plurality of contacts for receiving print data and power. The printer body has a cradle for holding the printhead cartridge in an operative position. The printer body has corresponding contacts for connection with the plurality of contacts on the printhead cartridge when the printhead cartridge is in the operative position. During insertion of the replaceable printhead cartridge, the casing is first slid into the cradle at which point the plurality of contacts contact the corresponding contacts. Next, the casing is rotated. During the rotation the plurality of contacts remain in contact with the corresponding contacts. The rotation of the casing in the cradle forms an over centre mechanism.

    摘要: An inkjet printer includes a printhead for printing onto a media substrate, the printhead defining a plurality of nozzles from which ink is expelled; an ink tank provided upstream of the printhead; a sump provided downstream of the printhead for collecting unused ink from the printhead, the sump having a lower portion for holding the unused ink and an upper portion defining a headspace of air above the unused ink; a first fluid conduit extending between the printhead and the sump for communicating the unused ink from the printhead to the sump, the first fluid conduit connecting the sump to a position in the printhead upstream of the plurality of nozzles; and a pump connected to the sump, the pump for drawing air from the headspace of the sump into atmosphere and effecting a negative pressure in the printhead upstream of the nozzles. Communication of ink from the ink tank to the printhead is effected by the negative pressure generated by the drawing of air from the headspace of the sump.
