Abstract: Airbag cushion assemblies for aspirating ambient air to enhance inflation. Some embodiments may comprise an inflation module comprising an inflator and a plurality of high-velocity nozzles fluidly coupled with the inflator and configured to deliver inflation gas from the inflator into an airbag cushion. A housing coupled to the airbag cushion, may comprise an aspiration inlet configured to allow for receipt of ambient air into the airbag cushion during inflation of the airbag cushion. The plurality of high-velocity nozzles may be configured to, upon actuation of the inflator, draw ambient air into the airbag cushion along with the inflation gas from the inflator. In some embodiments, a valve assembly may be provided that is configured to open upon actuation of the inflator and to close following inflation of the airbag cushion to prevent air and inflation gas from exiting through the aspiration inlet.

Abstract: An apparatus includes a camera lens assembly and a printed circuit board attached to said camera lens assembly. The camera lens assembly may be configured to provide a forward view through a windshield of a vehicle. The printed circuit board generally comprises an antenna, a ground plane, and an image sensor. The antenna is generally disposed on a front surface of the printed circuit board. The ground plane may be disposed either on the front surface or within a layer of the printed circuit board. The image sensor is generally mounted on a back surface of the printed circuit board. The camera lens assembly is generally configured to focus an image of the forward view through the windshield on the image sensor.

Abstract: Methods, devices and/or features which in addition to circumferential thrust neutrality additionally facilitate, permit or provide for thrust vector tuning of the inflation gas discharge from an inflator device. An end diffuser includes a diffuser wall defining a diffuser chamber for initially accepting inflation gas from a gas-providing portion of the inflator device. The diffuser wall includes a cylindrical portion having a plurality of inflation gas discharge openings disposed in a circumferential thrust neutral gas discharge array for discharging inflation gas from the diffuser chamber and an end wall portion forming a closed end to the diffuser. The end wall portion includes a protrusion of selected shape and dimensions extending therefrom into the diffuser chamber to create an inflation gas flow altering annular ring within the diffuser chamber to selectively thrust vector tune the inflator device.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a system for real time control of a wheel slip of each slipping wheel of a pair of wheels associated with an axle of a motor vehicle, simultaneously and independently with real time explicit control of said motor vehicle's acceleration provided by each non-slipping wheel associated with the axle. The system makes use of a total controller and an asymmetric controller associated with the axle of the vehicle for generating two torque signals used to control the total and asymmetric dynamics respectively of the axle, and a distributor for distributing the two said torque signals into available actuators' targets. The two said controllers each contain feedback and feed forward control elements, is operable to sense wheel slippage condition of each wheel on the axle, and augments the feedback and feed forward control based on the sensed wheel slippage conditions.

Abstract: A method for detecting the location of and isolating a leak in a braking system by simultaneously controlling a direct apply subsystem (DAS) and an isolated apply subsystem (IAS) to enable fluid communication between the IAS and the first circuit; to block fluid communication of the DAS with the first circuit; to enable fluid communication of the DAS with the second circuit; and to block fluid communication of the IAS with the second circuit. A sensed travel of an isolated apply component and a sensed fluid pressure developed by the IAS may be used to determine if the leak is present in the first circuit, while simultaneously using the sensed travel of a direct apply component of the DAS, and a sensed fluid pressure developed by the DAS, to determine if the leak is present in the second circuit.

Abstract: Airbag cushion assemblies comprising airbag cushion flaps for safety. In some embodiments, the assembly may comprise an airbag housing and an airbag cushion positioned within the airbag housing. An airbag cushion flap may extend from the airbag cushion and may be configured to allow the airbag cushion to deploy from the airbag housing in at least two stages, wherein, in a first stage of the at least two stages, the airbag cushion flap is configured to expand to allow the airbag cushion to partially deploy and wherein, in a second stage of the at least two stages, the airbag cushion is configured to contact the airbag cushion flap and to reduce a punch-out force delivered by the airbag cushion during deployment by, for example, extending through the airbag cushion flap.

Abstract: Airbag cushion assemblies comprising cushion orientation features and related methods. Some embodiments may comprise an airbag cushion comprising a throat region comprising an inflator opening. An inflator comprising an inflator collar may be coupled with the airbag cushion. The inflator collar may comprise a non-circular shape. The assembly may further comprise an inflator coupling member coupled with the airbag cushion at the inflator opening. The inflator coupling member may similarly comprise a non-circular opening configured to be aligned with the inflator opening and to mate with the non-circular shape of the inflator collar so as to prevent the inflator from being coupled with the airbag cushion in a non-desired rotational orientation.
