Abstract:
A battery power measuring system for a Battery-Backed SRAM includes a nonvolatile memory (11), a clock (12), a CPU (10) and a buzzer (13). The nonvolatile memory is for storing a system time, an estimated battery maximal endurance, an estimated battery minimal endurance, and a cumulative on-battery run time. The clock is for indicating the current system time. The CPU is for calculating a new cumulative on-battery run time and a remaining battery endurance. The buzzer is for reminding users to replace a battery when the remaining battery endurance is lower than the estimated battery minimal endurance. The CPU is connected to the nonvolatile memory, the clock, and the buzzer through a plurality of data buses (14). A related battery power measuring method is also provided.
Abstract:
A keyboard control system that contains a manufacturer's identification code and a multiple selection matrix. This invention utilizes all the existing LED leads on a keyboard controller. Using the period between initial setting and normal operation together with triggering signals, user or customer is able to pick up suitable data from a single keyboard controller. In addition, the invention is capable of using the same leads for connecting to external serial EEPROM so that new data not included among the preset data within the keyboard controller can still be input to the controller. Furthermore, the same type of technique can be used to increase the number of combinations in different application areas as long as more keyboard controller input/output ports are available.

Abstract:
An automatic supervision system using an ion beam map generated by an ion implantation machine during an ion implantation process a feature extraction circuit and a data converter. The feature extraction circuit receives a beam current signal and a display blanking signal from the ion implantation machine, and extract features of the ion beam map. The data converter is coupled to the feature extraction circuit and converts the features into indexes indicative of the alignment and symmetry of beam maps. The data converter also compares the indexes to index values or symptoms of known abnormal ion beam scanning, which allows the data converter to recognize abnormal ion beam scanning and indicate the proper corrective action to adjust the ion beam scanning. Thus, the two-dimensional beam map recognition analysis is reduced to a one-dimensional feature analysis, thereby simplifying the beam map recognition process. This simplified beam recognition process allows the automatic supervision system to achieve real time control of the ion beam scanning process, thereby reducing faulty implantation.
Abstract:
A rotary engine with axially directly connected compression and power cylinders is disclosed, which includes a compression cylinder, a power cylinder, an intermediate cylinder wall located between the compression and the power cylinder to serve as a common inner-end wall of the two cylinders, and a combustion chamber unit fixed to a circumferential surface of the intermediate cylinder wall, so that the rotary engine has axially directly connected compression and power cylinders. A compression-side and a power-side rotational valve are separately fitted in two recessed end surfaces of the intermediate cylinder wall. The compression-side and the power-side rotational valve are provided with three L-shaped first and second openings, respectively. Compressed air-fuel mixture in the compression cylinder flows through the L-shaped first openings into the combustion chamber, and high temperature high pressure gas generated after explosion in the combustion chamber unit flows through the L-shaped second openings into the power cylinder.

A power adaptor is provided. The power adaptor includes a voltage converter, a connecting port, a first transformer and a controller. The voltage converter receives an input voltage and determines whether to convert the input voltage to an output voltage according to an indicating signal. The first transformer includes a primary side and a secondary side. The primary side and the secondary side are coupled to each other, and a first end and a second end of the secondary side are coupled to the connecting port, respectively. The controller generates the indicating signal according to a voltage at the primary side of the first transformer. The connecting port is used to connect to an electrical device, and when the connecting port is electrically connected to the electrical device, a first end and a second end of the secondary side are short to a reference ground end of the secondary side.

Abstract:
Methods to measure a variety of DNA synthetic processes in live human cells by introducing and retrieving exogenous DNA probes are provided herein. Using fragments of bacterial plasmid or phage DNA, a wide array of DNA constructs may be assembled to mimic the intermediates of DNA transactions, including replication, translation synthesis, and end-joining. These DNA probes may be transfected into human cells and retrieved for mutational analysis using a modified Random Mutation Capture assay or NextGen DNA sequencing. These assays require only a small number of cells, such as might be available from biopsy material. Thus, the methods described herein may be applied to the early detection of cancer, predicting the responsiveness of individual cancers to chemotherapy, and measuring the DNA repair capacity of individuals to environmental DNA damaging agents. This approach may be automated and used for screening human populations for variations in DNA synthetic and repair activities.
