Abstract:
The invention relates to the distributor valve aspects of an internally shafted orbital piston machine. The distributor valve includes a fixed and movable valve part with the movable valve part being biased against the fixed valve part by an axially movable plunger. A central bearing bushing between the fixed and movable valve parts provides for precise centering of the movable valve. The fixed valve part is formed by brazing together two annular elements.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an electrical junction box having a base, a frame and a cover as the three basic parts thereof. A Ushaped wire stirrup engages and cooperates with camming surfaces on the frame and cover in a manner so as to permit the easy and convenient locking together of the three basic members of the junction box.
Abstract:
The invention relates to fluid pressure motors and pumps of the type having a gerotor displacement mechanism and an axial type of valve. The casing has inlet and outlet ports and a speed and load control port. The rotary valve has first and second sets of alternately arranged passages with one set having the usual constant fluid communication with the casing outlet port. The other set of valve passages includes some passages in constant fluid communication with the casing inlet port and at least one passage in constant fluid communication with the casing control port. A change over unit has a fluid supply inlet, a fluid exhaust outlet and a control outlet connected to the casing control port referred to above. The change over unit has means for selectively and alternately connecting the control port to the supply inlet and exhaust outlet thereof.
Abstract:
The invention is a pressostat assembly which includes two bellows, one inside the other, which have fluid communication. Both bellows are fixedly attached to a rod form of operating member and the outer bellows operates to impart a closing movement to the operating member if the inner bellows should develop a leak. The effective cross sectional area of the outer bellows is larger that that of the inner bellows.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a valve assembly for a cooling system. The cooling system has a container containing liquid nitrogen under pressure which is to be distributed in vapor form to an enclosed space to be cooled. The valve assembly includes a main valve and pressure operated means for operating the main valve which means utilizes the vapor pressure of the nitrogen in the container referred to above. Two auxiliary valves are provided which are actuated in unison in response to temperature changes in the space to be cooled. The auxiliary valves control the application of pressurized nitrogen vapor to the main valve operating means.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a snap action switch assembly comprising a snap action system which incorporates a main arm which is movable between two stops and to which the force of a pressurized working element and of an adjustable range defining spring is applied. A snap action arm is linked with said main arm and hinged in a bearing at its other end. This bearing is spring urged towards the snap action arm and the spring force thereof is likewise adjustable. The switch also comprising a contact system in which a movable contact is spring biased against a fixed contact and can be lifted by a drive element associated with the main arm.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a sound absorber assembly for encased refrigeration compressors. Two cup-shaped members are slidably and telescopically joined to form a main chamber of selectively variable size. A partition in one of the cup elements divides the main chamber into two sub-chambers and the partition is movable to allow any desired volume ratio between the sub-chambers to be selected. A throttle passage having the opposite ends thereof in respective fluid communication with the sub-chambers is incorporated into or connected to the partition.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a valve assembly for diving equipment having an air inlet to which a container bottle containing pressurized air may be attached and an air outlet to which the breathing equipment is attachable. Between the air inlet and air outlet is reserve valve means which is biased in an opening direction by pressurized air on the downstream said thereof and in a closing direction by valve actuator means which operates to close the reducing valve when the air pressure on the downstream side drops to a predetermined minimum pressure. First and second guide means are provided for the valve actuator means which actuator means has a range of movement relative to each of said guide means with said movement being automatic relative to the first guide means and manually controllable relative to the second guide means, The valve actuator means is transferable from the first guide means to the second guide means only at a point corresponding substantially to said minimum pressure.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an electrical heating unit for appliance such as coffee makers, hot plates and the like. The heating unit includes a PTC resistor which is mounted so as to be completely surrounded by a liquid medium so that a uniform temperature is maintained for the external surface of the resistor. This uniform temperature prevents cracking of the resistor due to unevenly distributed thermal strains.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for producing the ring member of a gerotor gear set. Ring members are first formed roughly to size by broaching a stack of blanks. The honing of the crests and flanks of the teeth is done with a honing mandrel having tapered cross section with the same shape as the star member of a gerotor gear set. The honing mandrel is reciprocated and at the same time is given rotational and orbital movements which correspond to the movements of the same character which occur in the operation of a gerotor gear set wherein the star member may have both rotational and orbital movement relative to the ring member of the gear set.
