Abstract: A multi-axis isolator configured to isolate a payload from unwanted vibrations and shocks includes a housing, at least one pair of radial isolators in the housing, and an axial isolator in the housing. Each radial isolator includes an elastomer dome, a chamber at least partially defined by the elastomer dome, and a fluid in the chamber. The multi-axis isolator also includes a fluid track placing the chambers of the radial isolators in fluid communication with each other. The axial isolator includes an elastomer dome, a backpressure membrane, a primary chamber, a backpressure chamber, a fluid in the primary and backpressure chambers, a conduit placing the primary chamber in fluid communication with the backpressure chamber. The multi-axis isolator also includes a shaft configured to be connected to the payload. The pair of radial isolators and the axial isolator are coupled to the shaft.

Abstract: Described is a system for unsupervised domain adaptation in an autonomous learning agent. The system adapts a learned model with a set of unlabeled data from a target domain, resulting in an adapted model. The learned model was previously trained to perform a task using a set of labeled data from a source domain. The set of labeled data has a first input data distribution, and the set of unlabeled target data has a second input data distribution that is distinct from the first input data distribution. The adapted model is implemented in the autonomous learning agent, causing the autonomous learning agent to perform the task in the target domain.

Abstract: Some variations provide a device for assembling a plurality of particles into particle assemblies, comprising: (a) a microfluidic droplet-generating region; (b) a first inlet to the droplet-generating region, configured to feed a first fluid containing particles and a solvent for the particles; (c) a second inlet to the droplet-generating region, configured to feed a second fluid that is not fully miscible with the first fluid; (d) a droplet outlet from the droplet-generating region, configured to withdraw droplets of the first fluid dispersed in the second fluid; and (e) a droplet-dissolving region configured to remove solvent from the droplets, thereby forming particle assemblies. Some variations also provide an assembly of nanoparticles, wherein the assembly has a volume from 1 μm3 to 1 mm3, a packing fraction from 20% to 100%, and/or an average relative surface roughness less than 1%, wherein the assembly is not disposed on a substrate.

Abstract: Described is a system for generating environmental features using deep reinforcement learning. The system receives a policy network architecture, initialization parameters, and a simulation environment that models a trajectory of a target system through a physical environment. Landmark features sampled from the policy network are initialized, and a trained policy network is generated by training the policy network using a reinforcement learning algorithm. A set of environmental features are generated using the trained policy network and displayed on a display device.
