Abstract:
A system for taking the difference between the duration of a pulse, and the time between pulses including a reversible binary counter to count up during one interval and to count down during a succeeding interval. The count at the end of the succeeding interval is transferred to a binary digital storage register by a set of gates. The output of the storage register is then impressed upon an indicator.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a tape tension checking device for cassette type tape recorders. The torques to be measured are simulated by limiting-force clutches which are accommodated in a tape cassette (cartridge). From either the rotation of the simulated tape spools, or the standstill thereof it can be immediately determined whether there exists the necessary tape tension or torque respectively.
Abstract:
A time division multiplex (TDM) switch is provided which serves a number of highways. Individual subscriber loops are connectd to the TDM switch in place of some of the TDM channels on the highways. This enables the ratio of TDM channels to individual loops to be altered conveniently.
Abstract:
An arrangement is provided for the recognition of call initiating loop closure in telephone subscriber stations employing semi-conductor amplifiers fed over a connecting trunk. On loop-closure, there is first created a virtual short circuit in the supervisory current direction. After recognition, the exchange switches over to the feed current direction for the amplifiers in the subscriber station. In this way the loop closure criterion is made independent of the d-c resistance of the amplifiers.
Abstract:
The present invention is related to a method and apparatus to avoid overprinting at the end of teleprinter lines on pageprinting teleprinters when a coding signal is used for enciphering of teleprinter messages. This is accomplished by enciphering the first of three procedure characters (two CARRIAGE RETURN and one LINE FEED) in the normal manner while the next two characters are not enciphered. At the receiving end, the first CARRIAGE RETURN is retrieved as normal, and the next two characters are passed in plain text without deciphering.
Abstract:
A SILICA-ALKALI-METAL OXIDE GLASS COMPOSITION FOR USE IN PRECISION ULTRASONIC DELAY LINES. BY ADDING FE2O3 AS A SIGNIFICANT CONSITUTUENT, A RELATIVELY HIGH ALKALI-METAL OXIDE CONTENT CAN BE USED WITHOUT DEGRADING ACOUSTIC PERFORMANCE RESULTING IN LOWER TEMPERATURES BEING NECESSARY TO PRODUCE A HOMOGENOUS GLASS.
Abstract:
A circuit including an amplifier and a transistor for rectification including a feedback path to maintain the output voltage proportional to the input voltage. The amplifier also may include a feedback resistor to maintain the transistor at cut-off in the absence of an AC input signal.
Abstract:
In a switching center controlled by two computers operating, for example, in the load-sharing mode, each of said computers has an access to each peripherical unit through an interface circuit. This interface has two functions: Retiming between the computer clock and the PCM clock, Preselection of the address concerned, in a peripheral unit, by an instruction sent by the computer and transmission of the data contained in said instruction.
Abstract:
This is a method of depositing a coherent solid layer of an oxide of silicon deposited upon a surface of a substrate by establishing a glow discharge adjacent to said surface in an atmosphere containing a gaseous compound of the element or elements comprising the material.
Abstract:
A memory unit is provided at each crosspoint of an electronic multiselector. The memory comprises a bistable element and a capacitor which keeps the crosspoint latched while external determinations are made concerning future changes of state of the crosspoint.
