Abstract: A power tool includes a brake assembly including a swing member swingable about a pivot at an axial center decentered from a center of a brake member, a press member held by the swing member to come in contact with the brake member in response to the swing member swinging, and a spring having an axial center at a second decentered position opposite to the pivot with the center of the brake member between the axial center and the pivot. The axial center is on a second line orthogonal to a first line extending through the center of the brake member and the pivot. The spring has an elastic movable end in contact with an end of the swing member to urge the swing member to a position at which the press member is in contact with the brake member with a switch being in an off state.

Abstract: A reciprocating tool includes a motor, a motion converting mechanism, a body housing, an inner housing, a support body, and a counterweight. The motion converting mechanism is operably coupled to a motor shaft and is configured to convert rotation into a linear reciprocating motion along a driving axis. The inner housing is within the body housing and houses at least a portion of the motion converting mechanism. The support body is originally separate from the inner housing and is attached to the inner housing in the body housing. The counterweight is operably coupled to the motion converting mechanism and is configured to be driven by the motion converting mechanism. The counterweight is supported by the support body to be pivotable around a pivot axis that extends in a direction orthogonal to the driving axis. At least a portion of the counterweight is housed in the inner housing.

Abstract: A power tool includes a housing formed of two half-housings and an end cap. A stator is mounted in the housing, and a rotor including a rotor core and a permanent magnet is mounted in the stator core. A rotary shaft having an axis of rotation extending in a front-rear direction supports the rotor core. Insulators are mounted at front and rear axial ends of the stator core, a planetary gear is mounted forward of the rotor core and a handle extends from the housing. The front insulator includes two recesses, and a first portion of each recess opens radially and a second portion of each recess opens axially rearward. Portions of the stator core cover the recesses, and projections extend from the housing and respectively mate with the recesses.
