Abstract: The present invention relates to a housing assembly for an electrical connector that is intermateable with a mating connector, wherein the housing assembly comprises: a connector housing and a lever for assisting a mating process between the electrical connector and the mating connector, wherein the connector housing comprises a receptacle for at least sectionally receiving the mating connector, wherein the lever is arranged on the connector housing movable between an initial position and a pre-lock position and comprises at least one lever arm with a blocking section, wherein the blocking section is located within the receptacle when the lever is in the initial position and wherein the blocking section is located outside of the receptacle when the lever is in the prelock position. Due to the blocking section being located in the receptacle, an operator tasked with the intermating is prevented from trying to forcefully mate the connectors without actuating the lever. Further, the present invention relates to an electrical connector with such a housing assembly. Moreover, the present invention relates to a connection assembly comprising such an electrical connector and a mating connector.

Abstract: An adhesive based cable tie mount for attaching on a mounting surface and thereby mount cable ties to tie plurality of cable wires includes a top surface, a bottom surface, and a receiving cut-out portion formed between the top surface and the bottom surface. The top surface comprises a first end, a second end and a central portion for placing the cable wires. The top surface further has a predefined slanting towards a central portion. The bottom surface is configured to be attached with the mounting surface. A plurality of nubs of predefined dimension are disposed in a spaced apart manner on the bottom surface. The define a bond-line thickness between the bottom surface and sad mounting surface. The receiving cut-out portion is formed to accommodate the cable ties therein.

Abstract: A method for manufacturing a female electrical terminal includes the steps of providing a sheet metal blank and forming the sheet metal blank to include a wiring portion for the attaching of an electrical wire and a receiving portion for the receiving of a male electrical terminal in a receiving direction. The receiving portion includes a base portion and two lateral portions. Each lateral portion including an end portion configured to form a top surface of the receiving hollow, at least one link beam linking the end portion to the base portion, and a support beam also linking the end portion to the base portion. The method includes a further step of bending the lateral portions to form the receiving hollow and an additional step of modifying, in particular, reducing, at least one dimension of the support beam.

Abstract: A low insertion force contact terminal which has a conductor mating portion, a securing portion and a substrate mating portion. The conductor mating portion is configured to terminate a conductor therein. The securing portion is configured to secure the terminal in a terminal receiving cavity of a housing. The substrate mating portion extends from the securing portion. The substrate mating portion has at least two sections which have curved portions thereon. At least one embossment is provided on a first section of the at least two sections or a second section of the at least two sections. The curved portions of the at least two sections move independently, which allows the curved portions to exert a low normal force on walls of through holes of a substrate to which the contact terminal is mated. The low normal force is sufficient to provide a stable electrical connection.
