The data recording apparatus has a receiver unit that receives a stream of encoded digital data; an analyzer that detects change in an attribute of the received stream and that outputs the detection information; a controller that generates management information containing the detection information output by the analyzer and time information indicating detection time of the change as a first entry point; a drive that records the management information and the received stream to a data storage medium; and an input unit that defines a second entry point. This second entry point is set relative to the playback path of the stream and is used to access and read from a particular point in the stream. The controller further generates the management information containing the first entry point and the second entry point separately identified.

Each image region represents an instruction assigned to a control signal which is transmitted when the corresponding sensing portion is pressed, such that the N instructions to be respectively assigned to the control signals are determined based on an operation state of an apparatus to be controlled in the standby state and the operation menu generated in an immediately previous standby state.

摘要： The data recording/reproducing apparatus of the present invention efficiently performs a trickplay mode operation such as fast forward reproducing and rewind reproducing and a postrecording operation by using a data recording medium storing a variable-bitrate-compressed video data. Each AV file in the video data includes chapter data and first and second pointer data. Each GOP data in the chapter data includes one independent picture data and a plurality of dependent picture data. The first pointer data includes the location data of the independent picture data, and the second pointer data includes the location data of the first pointer data. Further, each GOP data includes an audio data interleaved with the picture data. The first pointer data includes the location data of the corresponding audio data, and the second pointer data includes the location data of the corresponding first pointer data. A hierarchical location data for retrieving the independent picture data and/or the audio data is formed by the first and second pointers.

摘要： An information device which ensures fast data transfer between a RAM and an I/O channel, between an I/O channel and another I/O channel, or between a RAM and another RAM: comprises address decoder circuit which allows the CPU to gain simultaneous access to both the RAM and the I/O channel when the CPU accesses a data transfer area mapped for data transfer, and an inverter which assures that both the RAM and the I/O channel operate in a mutually opposite manner, either in one mode in which the RAM works in a read operation with the I/O channel in a write operation or vice versa in response to the access request of read/write from the CPU. By assuring that both the RAM and the I/O channel operate in a mutually opposite manner, in response to an access from the CPU, data transfer between the RAM and the I/O channel is completed in a single access from the CPU; thus, fast data transfer is achieved.

The optical disk is prohibited from being removed from the optical disk device when one partition is opened earlier than the other partitions. The removal prohibition of the optical disk is released when the final partition is closed.
