摘要: The present invention provides improved anesthesia delivery systems that consistently and reliably deliver anesthesia gas to multiple gas outlets. The systems are particularly useful for anesthetizing multiple mammals and living specimens to be imaged by a low-light level imaging system. The anesthesia delivery systems are suitable for use with conventional oxygen sources, and convert the high pressures associated with a conventional oxygen source to lower pressures suitable for use with small mammals and suitable for combination with an anesthesia gas at low flow rates. The systems include an anesthesia gas source that combines anesthesia gas with the oxygen. The combination of anesthesia gas and oxygen is supplied to one or more multiple outlets.

摘要: An imaging box assembly is provided for capturing an image of a sample. The imaging box assembly includes a body having an interior cavity for receiving the sample, and having a front portion defining an opening into the cavity. The body further includes a view port enabling viewing of the sample contained in the interior cavity. A door is mounted to the body that is movable between an opened condition, enabling access to the interior cavity through the cavity opening, and a closed condition, positioning a door rear portion substantially adjacent the body front portion to prevent access through the cavity opening. The box assembly further includes a moveable stage disposed in the cavity interior that supports the sample. The moveable stage is adapted to selectively position the sample at a selected one of a plurality of positions relative to the view hole.

摘要: The invention includes a communication network that comprises a conforming emergency system coupled to an emergency services network by a media channel. The emergency services network includes a resource coupled to a plurality of emergency services. When in operation, the conforming emergency system transmits an emergency event message to the resource over the media channel. The emergency event message includes a retrieval key. Responsive to receiving the emergency event message and the retrieval key, the resource initiates an emergency event session corresponding with the retrieval key. During the emergency event session, the resource transmits multiple responses to the conforming emergency system. Also during the emergency event session, the resource receives information corresponding with the retrieval key from at least one of the emergency services, and transmits the multiple responses containing the information.

摘要: Concepts for conveniently arranging devices for the transduction of signals to and from voltage and current domains to infrared radiation domains is described. Specifically, optoelectronic components and methods of making the same are described. In one aspect, the optoelectronic component includes a base substrate having a pair of angled (or substantially perpendicular) faces with electrical traces extending therebetween. A semiconductor chip assembly is mounted on the first face of the base substrate and a photonic device is mounted on the second face. Both the semiconductor chip assembly and the photonic device are electrically connected to traces on the base substrate. The semiconductor chip assembly is generally arranged to be electrically connected to external devices. The photonic devices are generally arranged to optically communicate with one or more optical fibers. The described structure may be used with a wide variety of photonic devices. In some embodiments the base substrate is formed from a ceramic material having the electrical traces formed thereon. In other implementations the substrate includes a backing block having a flexible printed circuit substrate adhered thereto.

摘要: A scheduling system for distributing asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) telephone signals from an ATM cell queuing device. The scheduling system includes a number of port shapers. A port shaper can support a number of flows with each flow identifying a number of ATM cells. A port shaper directs the subscriber. Each flow assigned to a port shaper identifies ATM cells which are to be distributed to a different device used by a subscriber, such as a telephone or computer. A port shaper further includes a number of time descriptors. Flows are linked to the time descriptors. The time descriptors are sequentially activated. When a time descriptor becomes active, a flow linked to the time descriptor can emit an ATM cell, and after emitting the cell the flow is relinked to subsequent time descriptors based ona weighting increment I to accommodate different device bandwidths.

摘要: A shutter assembly for a trace element detector includes a shutter wheel having at least one window, and a drive mechanism coupled to the shutter wheel, wherein the drive mechanism rotates the shutter wheel to move the window between at least an outlet port of the shutter assembly and a cleaning station of the shutter assembly. The cleaning station includes at least one cleaning jet positioned to apply a cleaning solution to the window when the window is located at the cleaning station. In the preferred embodiment, the shutter assembly further includes a drying station, and the drive mechanism rotates the shutter wheel to move the window to the drying station after the window has passed the cleaning station. The drying station includes at least one gas jet positioned to apply a gas stream to the window when the window is located at the drying station. A control mechanism controls the application of the cleaning fluid to the cleaning jet and the application of the gas stream to the gas jet, as either continuous flows or intermittent pulses. The cleaning station and the drying station are preferably isolated by the use of a base plate including a separating wall. The base plate is also provided with drain ports to allow excess cleaning solution to drain from the shutter assembly.
