    摘要: An improved cartridge for holding a fluid sample with a small volume is disclosed herein. The cartridge has a test chamber and a vestibule through which the test fluids are inserted into the test chamber. Improved grips are flared-out to aid manipulation. The handle portion is reinforced to prevent flexing, and a prefabricated trough along the edge of the land surface prevents introduction of the adhesive into the region for analysis. The cartridge has a stopper having a dual sealing mechanism, which seals the test chamber inlet between the vestibule and the test chamber, and the mouth of the vestibule so that when the stopper is in place, the test chamber is closed to the admission of air or other contaminants. The vestibule is similarly closed against escape of the overflow from the test chamber. The stopper is composed of a single elastomer. An improved locking mechanism has two flexible walls on either side of the handhold that locks into their respective keepers on the cartridge to provide a secure lock. Additionally, an improved method for loading the cartridge allows for an even distribution of magnetically responsive particles contained within a fluid sample to be viewed in an array through the optically clear land surface portion of the cartridge.

    摘要: A multiprocessor computer system which maintains cache coherency includes first and second microprocessors each having an associated cache memory storing lines of data. Each line of data has associated protocol bits that indicate a protocol state consistent with write-through, write-back, or write-once cache coherency policies that are selected via a protocol selection terminal for different system configurations. In one configuration, the output and external address terminals of the first microprocessor are coupled to the external and output address terminals, respectively, of the second microprocessor. This configuration enables each microprocessor to snoop memory cycles to main memory initiated by the other microprocessor so that it can be readily determined if a particular cache has the latest version of data.

    摘要: A method for computing includes running a plurality of virtual machines on a computer having one or more cores and a memory. Respective interrupt addresses in the memory are assigned to the virtual machines. Upon occurrence on a device connected to the computer of an event pertaining to a given virtual machine during a period in which the given virtual machine is swapped out of operation, an interrupt message is written from the device to a respective interrupt address that is assigned to the given virtual machine in the memory. Upon activating the given virtual machine on a given core after writing of the interrupt message, a context of the given virtual machine is copied from the memory to the given core, and a hardware interrupt is automatically raised on the given core responsively to the interrupt message in the memory.

    摘要: A network interface controller includes a host interface, which is configured to be coupled to a host processor having a host memory. A network interface is configured to receive data packets from a network, each data packet including a header, which includes header fields, and a payload including data. Packet processing circuitry is configured to process one or more of the header fields and at least a part of the data and to select, responsively at least to the one or more of the header fields, a location in the host memory. The circuitry writes the data to the selected location and upon determining that the processed data satisfies a predefined criterion, asserts an interrupt on the host processor so as to cause the host processor to read the data from the selected location in the host memory.

    摘要: A network communication device includes a host interface, which is coupled to communicate with a host processor, having a host memory, so as to receive a work request to execute a transaction in which a plurality of data blocks are to be transferred over a packet network. Processing circuitry is configured to process multiple data packets so as to execute the transaction, each data packet in the transaction containing a portion of the data blocks, and the multiple data packets including at least first and last packets, which respectively contain the first and last data blocks of the transaction. The processing circuitry is configured to compute a transaction signature over the data blocks while processing the data packets so that at least the first data block passes out of the network communication device through one of the interfaces before computation of the transaction signature is completed.
