    摘要: In a battery (2) including a battery cell formed in a flattened substantially parallelepiped shape and a terminal contacting section (222) electrically connected to the battery cell, at one end in the longitudinal direction of a face of the battery opposing to the face on which the terminal contacting section (222) is provided, a projecting portion (26) which projects in the longitudinal direction of the face is provided. Meanwhile, another projecting portion (27) which projects in the longitudinal direction of the face is provided at the other end. The projecting portions (26, 27) may have projecting lengths different from each other or may have projecting lengths and projecting thicknesses different from each other. A charging apparatus into which the battery (2) is to be installed includes an accommodating section (40) for the battery (2) which in turn includes projection accommodating portions (46 and 47) configured to individually accommodate the projecting portions (26 and 27). The accommodating section (40) includes a space for accommodating a battery (2D, 2E) wherein the battery cell has a rectangular principal face and another space for accommodating another battery (2) wherein the battery cell has a substantially square principal face, and charging terminals serve as charging terminals not only for the battery (2) but also for the battery (2D, 2E).

    摘要: A porous metal body is produced by forming a coating film of one or more metal capable of forming a eutectic alloy at temperatures not higher than the melting point of Al on a foamed resin skeleton having a three-dimensional network structure according to the plating, vapor deposition, sputtering, CVD or other vapor phase process, impregnating the foamed resin having the coating film formed thereon with a paste comprising powdery Al, a binder and an organic solvent as principal components to thereby obtain a paste-coated composite and heating the composite at a temperature ranging from 550.degree. C. to 750.degree. C. in a nonoxidizing atmosphere. The resultant porous metal body has a large effective surface area and a high space utilization factor and exhibits excellent performance in uses in filters and battery plates.

    摘要: A composite card reader (11) used for IC cards, magnetic cards and the like to which the card is manually inserted and extracted is disclosed. The composite type card reader (11) has a shutter lever (28) for opening and closing a card inlet (13), a locking mechanism for locking the card by closing the shutter lever (28), and a lock releasing mechanism for releasing the lock by opening the shutter lever (28). A shutter closing lever (32) included in the locking mechanism and a shutter opening lever (30) included in the lock releasing mechanism can be alternately engaged with a roller (38) included in a link mechanism (29) coupled to the shutter lever (28). In order to maintain the lock released state by the lock releasing mechanism, a shutter linked lever (80) which is moved in relation to the shutter lever (28) has its position regulated by a slider (19) which slides in response to the insertion of the card (12). A controlling portion including a CPU (1 ) is provided, which prohibits operation of the locking mechanism when insertion of a magnetic card is detected by a magnetic head (26). The magnetic head (26) is supported by a frame (62) having a projection (69) on one end, which can swing with a contact point between the projection (69) and a support base (65) being a support point of swinging.
