Abstract: Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are disclosed for downlink resource allocation associated with a shared frequency band. A WTRU may receive resource allocation information associated with a component carrier and at least one carrier segment. The component carrier and the least one carrier segment may each comprise a plurality of resource block groups (RBG). At least two bitmaps may be associated with the resource allocation information. A size of a resource block group (RBG) of the component carrier and the at least one carrier segment may be based on a combined number of resource blocks (RB) of the component carrier and the one or more carrier segments divided by a 3GPP Rel-8/Rel-10 RBG size of the component carrier. The WTRU may determine at least one RBG allocated to the WTRU using the resource allocation information and may receive and decode the at least one RBG allocated to the WTRU.

Abstract: A method for uplink timing alignment in a wireless transmit/receive unit is provided. The method includes receiving control signaling from an evolved Node B, receiving on a primary cell (PCell) a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) order, the PDCCH order including a carrier indicator field indicating a secondary cell (SCell) to transmit a physical random access channel (PRACH) transmission. In response to the PDCCH order, transmitting the PRACH transmission, and in response to the PRACH transmission, monitoring the PCELL for a random access response (RAR). In response to detecting an RAR associated with the PRACH transmission, adjusting timing for the SCell in response to a timing advance included in the RAR.

Abstract: A wireless transmit receive unit (WTRU) may perform provide a report to a network. The WTRU may include a processor that is configured to receive a measurement configuration from the network, where the measurement configuration indicates a threshold and a resource pool on which to perform measurements. The resources pool may be used for communication between one or more mobile device. The processor may be configured to perform measurements on the resource pool and determine whether an energy level for the resource pool is above the threshold for a duration of time. The processor may also be configured to send a report to the network indicating that the energy level for the resource pool is above the threshold for the predetermined duration of time.

Abstract: Techniques and devices are disclosed for efficient offloading and/or aggregation of resources by providing different levels of connection management in a network. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may support additional ECM and/or RRC states (e.g. inactive states) and/or transitions that may enable a WTRU to act without an RRC connection and/or with reduced latency. A WTRU may operate with network resources with and/or without radio resources. A WTRU may operate in parallel with a plurality of layers, including a primary layer for which the WTRU may behave according to LTE or other behavior. The WTRU may be configured for operation in a secondary layer. The WTRU may establish a secondary layer security context and/or a tunnel or routing for the secondary layer for transport of user plane data between the WTRU and a gateway. Abstract: Systems and methods are contemplated for reconfiguration of one or more MAC instances while the WTRU is operating using dual- or multi-MAC instance connectivity. For example, upon reception of RRC reconfiguration information that modifies one or more secondary MAC instances, the WTRU may transmit a reconfiguration complete message to a Macro eNB (MeNB) and may synchronize to small-cell or secondary eNB (SeNB), for example if triggered by one or more of an RRC flag, a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) order (MeNB/SeNB), MAC activation information, etc. For example, the WTRU may synchronize to the SeNB for specific type(s) of RRC reconfigurations, but not other type(s) of RRC reconfigurations. Abstract: Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are provided to implement scheduling for device-to-device (D2D). A WTRU (e.g., a D2D WTRU) may determine whether the WTRU has D2D data to transmit. The WTRU may determine a set of allowed SA resources and/or allowed D2D data resources for transmission of the SA. The WTRU may select an SA resource and/or D2D data resources (e.g., from the set of allowed SA resources and/or D2D data resources) for transmission. The WTRU may select one or more transmission parameters. The WTRU may select one or more transmission patterns. The WTRU may transmit D2D data over the set of allowed D2D resources using the selected transmission patterns and according to the selected transmission parameters.
