摘要： The present description relates to a method in which a terminal performs network reentry procedures in an idle mode in a wireless access system, wherein the method comprises the following steps: receiving, from a base station, control information indicating an initial ranging back-off window size for machine-to-machine (M2M) terminals during a paging listening period; determining an initial ranging back-off window size for initial ranging using the received control information; and performing initial ranging procedures with the base station based on the determined initial ranging back-off window size.

A method for transmitting and receiving carrier group information, according to one embodiment of the present invention, includes the steps of: a mobile terminal transmitting a first message containing multi-carrier performance information of the mobile terminal to a base station; and the mobile terminal receiving, from the base station, a second message containing allocation information on the wireless resource allocated on the basis of the multi-carrier information. Here, multi-carrier performance information includes a spectral mask-type parameter for the supportable multi-carrier of the mobile terminal.

A method for a single-carrier supported mobile station (MS) to perform a carrier change with a MC supported base station (BS) includes transmitting a message indicating a support of a basic MC mode in which the MS is aware of a MC operation of the BS, receiving a carrier management command message including an action code and an action time on a serving carrier, transmitting, in response to the carrier management command message, a confirmation message indicating readiness of signal transmission/reception through a target carrier on a target carrier, and receiving a control signal and data from the BS on the target carrier, wherein the serving carrier and the target carrier are controlled by a common Medium Access Control (MAC) of the BS.

A method for managing carriers by a terminal in a broadband wireless access system supporting multi-carrier includes transmitting, to a base station, activation requests information for requesting the activation of at least one second carrier allocated from the base station through a first carrier according to the power state of the terminal, receiving, from the base station, a first message that includes activation indication information for indicating the activation of at least one target carrier of the at least one second carrier, and transmitting to the base station a second message which notifies the base station whether the at least one target carrier is ready per activation.

According to one embodiment of the present invention, a method in which a terminal acquires carrier configuration information in a broadband wireless access system that supports multiple carriers comprises the following steps; transmitting a first message containing a change count value of the carrier configuration information acquired by the terminal: receiving, from the base station and in response to the first message, a second message containing the current change count value of the carrier configuration information; and, if the change count value of the first message and the change count value of the second message are different from each other, receiving a third message containing current carrier configuration information and the current change count value from the base station.

A handover support method according to an embodiment of the present invention includes the steps of: transmitting a handover request message to a first base station (serving base station); receiving a handover response message (UL grant or UL-MAP message) containing authentication information (M) from a second base station (target base station); deriving a dedicated code index (DCI) for instructing a dedicated ranging code by using the authentication information (M); transmitting the dedicated ranging code to the second base station on a non-contention basis; and receiving a ranging response message as a response for the dedicated ranging code.
