摘要： A high side co-rotational scroll compressor has lubricant sumps in both the discharge and suction pressure portions of its hermetic shell as well as a pressure biasing arrangement by which the scroll members are urged together in operation to minimize internal leakage. Lubrication of the bearing in which the driven scroll member rotates as well as to the bearing in which the idler scroll member rotates, both of which are located in the suction pressure portion of the shell, is provided for. Additionally, embodiments are taught by which the interface between the tips of the wraps of each scroll member and the end plate of the opposing scroll member are lubricated and by which the seal in the axial pressure biasing arrangement is lubricated and/or shielded from debris having the potential to damage it.

摘要： A high-side co-rotating refrigerant scroll compressor defines a lubricant sump in its discharge pressure portion. Lubricant is directed from that sump, through a passage which is at least partially defined by the shell of the compressor, to the bearings in which the scroll members rotate. Heat carried in the lubricant flowing through the passage is transferred through the compressor shell to the ambient. Subsequent to having lubricated the bearing in which the drive scroll member rotates, lubricant is diverted into a passage defined by the drive scroll member drive shaft and enters the stream of compressed discharge gas flowing therethrough. The lubricant is thereby prevented from entering the suction pressure portion of the compressor where it would otherwise heat compressor suction gas prior to the entry of that gas into the compressor's compression mechanism.

摘要： A housing has a length adjustable to match the length of the bee entrance of a common type of brood chamber and a width at least equal to the width of that bee entrance. The housing includes screened openings or other ventilation provision to permit air to pass through the bee entrance of the brood chamber. One or more arms or other clamping device on the housing holds the housing securely over the bee entrance to prevent bees from entering or leaving the brood chamber. The device facilitates transport of bees as well as laboratory control of African bees.

摘要： There is disclosed an improved drilling head which provides for the formation of a continuous seal about a drilling string, where the drilling string consists of varying diameter drill string components. A stationary bowl configured to pass a drill string is provided with an annular grove about the top so as to allow for the attachment of a connecting clamp. An assembly carrier is provided which is removably disposable within the bowl and to which a lower stripper rubber may be attached. A bearing assembly adapted for placement within the assembly carrier is provided with an upper rotatable stripper rubber of smaller diameter that the lower stripper rubber so as to form a seal on smaller diameter drilling strings.

摘要： A system and method for starting a compressor is provided. An amount of liquid refrigerant that is located in an oil sump of the compressor is determined. Using the determined amount of liquid refrigerant, a starting algorithm for the compressor is selected. The selected starting algorithm is configured to remove the determined amount of liquid refrigerant from the oil sump before the compressor reaches a preselected operating speed. The selected starting algorithm is then executed to start the compressor.

The bearing assembly includes an outer barrel having a central bore, an inner barrel at least partially disposed within the central bore of the outer barrel and bearing units coupled between the barrels for providing concentric alignment of the barrels and allowing rotation therebetween.
