摘要: There are arranged a mixing room (4) for mixing fuel with air, flame ports (5) disposed downstream of the mixing room, an ignition plug and a flame rod disposed near the flame ports, and a catalyst layer (8) disposed downstream of the flame ports and bored with a plurality of communicating holes (8a). The operation includes steps of activating the igniting means (6) for forming a flame at the flame ports (5), extinguishing the flame after a predetermined time length by once stopping the fuel supply, and starting a catalytic burning reaction on the surface of the catalyst layer (8) by supplying fuel again without activating the igniting means (6). The operation is controlled in such a manner that, in the flame forming step at the flame ports (5), the burning is stopped when the ion current detecting means (7) does not detect a predetermined electric current, and, in the catalytic burning step at the catalyst layer (8), the burning is stopped, in contrast with the above, when the ion current detecting means detects the predetermined electric current.

The wick has two sections, one section being composed of a gasifying wick element of a glass fiber material which contains at least at the top portion thereof 80% or more of silica, alumina or a mixture thereof. The other section is a suction wick element having good fuel sucking properties. The wick may be integrally constituted of a glass fiber material which contains at least the top portion thereof 80% or more of silica, alumina or a mixture thereof. The combustion chamber preferably includes an inner cylinder, an outer cylinder and a red heat cylinder provided between the inner and outer cylinders.

摘要: A liquid fuel combustion apparatus for evaporating and vaporizing kerosene, gas oil or like liquid fuel by heating, admixing air with the vaporized fuel in a specified ratio and burning the resulting gaseous mixture in a combustion unit. The vaporizer for the liquid fuel comprises a liquid fuel drawing-up member (15) made of a heat-resistant porous body (8) or heat-resistant inorganic fiber fabric (9) for drawing up the liquid fuel, and a heat generating member (6) including coating layers (22, 23) of heat-resistant metal, heat-resistant alloy or heat-resistant metallic oxide for giving heat to the drawing-up member. To prevent formation of tar-like substances, a catalyst is preferably deposited on the surface of the drawing-up member and/or on the surface of the heat generating member. Further preferably, the outer periphery of the heat generating member (6) is in contact with the drawing-up member (5). The apparatus assures stable combustion over a prolonged period of time and is useful as a heater, kitchen range or the like.

摘要: An energy saving support device supports energy saving of an air conditioner and includes an acquiring unit, a first energy calculating unit, a second energy calculating unit, an information generating unit and a reporting unit. The acquiring unit acquires operating data regarding the air conditioner. The first energy calculating unit determines a total consumed energy or a standard consumed energy of the air conditioner as a comparison target energy based on the operating data acquired by the acquiring unit. The second energy calculating unit determines a low-COP consumed energy based on the operating data acquired by the acquiring unit. The information generating unit generates room-for-energy-saving information in order to determine a potential for energy saving based on the comparison target energy and the low-COP consumed energy. The reporting unit reports the room-for-energy-saving information.
