Disclosed is a method of forming an electrically conductive circuit comprising the steps of: preparing a transferring paper in which an assembly of electrically conductive foil carrying a predetermined pattern and an insulating layer containing glass frit and an overcoat layer consisting of a resin film having good burning property are provided on a transferring paper covered with a paste layer; removing an integral structure of the conductive foil, the insulating layer, and the overcoat layer from the transferring paper; transferring the removed integral structure onto a substrate; and burning the substrate with the integral structure set thereon at a temperature where the glass is soften. According to this method, it is possible to eliminate transformation or damage of a conductive foil where a conductive foil is singly disposed on a substrate.

The present invention relates to an article having an insulation abrasion-resistance coated layer composed of glass ceramics containing a given amount or more by weight at least either of oxides of divalent alkaline earth metals of a group composed of BaO, MgO, CaO and ZnO and containing a given amount or less the oxides of univalent alkali metal of a group composed of Na.sub.2 O, K.sub.2 O and Li.sub.2 O on the surface of the metallic base body. As it may be used in bearing, mechanical seal and tape guide post, the abrasion-resistance of the sliding portion may be improved.

A pressure sensor including a plate-shaped metal substrate; a glass layer provided on a surface of the metal substrate and mainly containing a partially devitrified enamel composition; a resistor element which is provided on a surface of the glass layer and has an electric resistance changed in accordance with the degree of strain thereof; and a pair of electrodes connected to the resistor element. The resistor element is provided so as to receive a stress, a pressure, or a load applied perpendicularly to a surface thereof. Alternatively, both surfaces of the metal substrate are provided with glass layers, respectively, and the resistor element is provided on one of the glass layers.

This is to introduce a strain sensor of high quality and excellent durability. This strain sensor is composed of a basic metal body, a crystallized glass layer formed over the surface of the basic metal body, and a resistance element that changes its resistance value by strain changes and is built on the glass layer surface. By this structure, where the crystallized glass layer fired at a high temperature is employed, both of the composition, the basic metal body and the glass layer, are fused with each other at the boundary plane, making their adhesion very strong. No peeling between the basic metal body and the glass layer will take place even under the severe environmental conditions such as high temperature and heavy load.

An optical waveguide comprising cladding 1 and core segment 20 buried in cladding 1 and serving as a waveguide, wherein a combination of glass material constituting the core segment 20 and another glass material constituting the cladding 1 is so selected that an absolute value of difference in coefficient of thermal expansion between these materials (α1-α2) is within a range of 0 and 9×10−7° C., where α1 denotes a coefficient of thermal expansion of the former material and α2 denotes that of the latter material. Since this makes possible to bond directly the glass materials having different refraction factors and different coefficients of thermal expansion, and to produce the optical waveguide at even a lower temperature as compared to the prior art method as an upper cladding layer is formed with the sputtering method, it realizes reduction in number of processes and time of manufacture, thereby providing the optical waveguide of low transmission loss at low cost, as well as a method of manufacturing the same.

A mold lens glass including B2O3, SiO2, La2O3, ZnO, BaO, and CaO, wherein the components in the composition are present in a weight ratio: of B2O3 (25% to 35% by weight), SiO2 (1% to 7% by weight), wherein the total amount of B2O3 and SiO2 is 30% to 40% by weight. La2O3 is present in an amount of 12% to 20% by weight, and the total amount of ZnO, BaO and CaO is 40% to 55% by weight. By using the mold lens glass of the present invention, it is possible to obtain a mold lens glass having a high refractive index, excellent water resistance, and a stable glassy state.

A multilayer LC composite component includes a glass-ceramic composition and internal electrodes containing silver or copper as a main component. The multilayer LC composite component is outstanding in mounting reliability particularly to a resin substrate, easy to manufacture, and has excellent electric characteristics at high frequency. The glass-ceramic composition includes 45 to 35 wt. % of forsterite powder and 55 to 65 wt. % of glass composite powder, and compositions of the glass composite powder include 40 to 50 wt. % of SiO2, 30 to 40 wt. % of BaO, 3 to 8 wt. % of Al2O3, 8 to 12 wt. % of La2O3, and 3 to 6 wt. % of B2O3. It is high in flexural strength, moderately high in coefficient of thermal expansion, easy to use in manufacturing a greensheet, and densely sintered at a temperature of less than 950 degrees C.
