摘要: A heated wiper blade for motor vehicles includes an elongated flexible beam and a heating element extending along the beam. The heating element may be configured to provide increased heat at the central portion of the blade and at the opposite ends of the blade. The heating element is comprised of an electrical conductor material that varies the amperage drawn between hot and cold ambient temperature operation. The flexible beam may include curved end portions and a flat or reduced curvature central portion. The heating element is preferably covered and sealed off to prevent loss of heat energy.

摘要: An overhead garage door seal may freeze to the floor/garage pad during winter months. A heating wire is placed inside the seal of the bottom of the garage door with a sensor on the outside. A timer can be used to activate the heating wire along with plugging it in to activate the heating wire. This prevents damage to the seal when ice forms because the ice is melted before opening the overhead garage door occurs.

The heater includes a first power pin made of a first conductive material, a second power pin made of a second conductive material that is dissimilar from the first conductive material, and a resistive heating element having two ends and made of a material that is different from the first and second conductive material of the first and second power pins. The resistive heating element forms a first junction with one end of the first power pin and a second junction at its other and with the second power pin. The controller is in communication with the power pins for measuring changes in voltage at the first and second junctions to determine an average temperature of the heater based on the changes in voltage.

The ceramic electric heating element can prevent the occurrence of a short circuit when the ceramic electric heating element is in use or is installed. The strength of the ceramic electric heating element is increased, and the shock resistance is enhanced. The service life of the ceramic electric heating element is prolonged, and the power-on duration of the ceramic electric heating element is prolonged. Moreover, the process is simplified, the structure is simple, and the cost is low.

摘要: An immersion heater including an encapsulated, semi-conductive, heating element. The heating element may be a non-metallic, carbon-based material in the form of a monofilament, a yarn or bundle of semi-conductive fibers which may be twisted, braided fibers or yarns, or the like. The encapsulation may be in the form of a tube of one or more layers of encapsulation material(s) with the heating element inserted therein. Alternately, the heating element may be thermoplastic with semi-conductive carbon additive, and the heating element may be coated with one or more external layers of insulating encapsulation material(s). The encapsulation material may be a rubber or thermoplastic material with sufficient chemical resistance to be immersed in a reservoir of fluid subject to freezing or thickening at low temperatures, such as DEF. The heater may be thermoformed into a predetermined fixed shape.

摘要: A fluid control system is provided that in one form includes a first flow channel, a second flow channel, a heater disposed in the second flow channel, and a fluid control device disposed upstream from the first and second flow channels. When the heater is turned on, the fluid control device changes a fluid flow rate through at least one of the first flow channel and the second flow channel. In another form, the fluid control system includes a bypass conduit, a heater disposed within the bypass conduit, and a fluid control device disposed near the inlet and outlet of the bypass conduit. In still another form, the fluid control system includes a regeneration device disposed downstream from at least one exhaust aftertreatment system and closes an outlet of the exhaust pipe.
