摘要: Method and Systems for extracting a concentrated sample of particles include priming a concentrate reservoir by passing a fluid through the concentrate reservoir to remove air. The concentrate reservoir has a first end with an opening and second end with an opening. The second end of the concentrate reservoir is closed off, and particles are accumulated within the concentrate reservoir by use of a particle concentrator. Thereafter, the first end of the concentrate reservoir is closed off, isolating the concentrate reservoir from particle concentrator, from which the particles were obtained. The second end of the concentrate reservoir is thereafter opened, and the particles of the concentrated sample in the concentrate reservoir are extracted to a sample capture reservoir through the second end opening of the concentrate reservoir.

摘要: A thin film transistor (TFT) structure is implemented. This embodiment is much less sensitive than conventional TFTs to alignment errors and substrate distortion. In such a configuration, there is no need to define gate features, so the layout is simplified. Moreover, the gate layer may be patterned by several inexpensive printing or non-printing methods.

摘要: An improved method of forming a display is described. The method includes the operation of forming a cell in an array of cells. Walls of the cell are used to confine both a color filter and a display material prior to sealing the cell. The method is particularly useful when jet printing particulate display materials and filter materials to form pixels in a display.

摘要: A method forms a first active electronic layer, prints an array of pillars on the first active electronic layer, dispenses a curable polymer over the array of pillars, molds the curable polymer by contacting the curable polymer with a mold structure to displace the curable polymer from upper surfaces of the pillars, cures the curable polymer to produce a hardened polymer, and removes the array of pillars to leave an array of holes in the hardened polymer. Another method provides a substrate having selected areas, prints an array of pillars on the substrate, dispenses a curable polymer over the array of pillars, molds the curable polymer by contacting the array of pillars with a mold structure to displace the curable polymer from upper surfaces of the pillars, cures the curable polymer to produce a hardened polymer, and removes the array of pillars to leave an array of holes in the hardened polymer corresponding to the selected areas. Another method forms a first active electronic layer on a substrate, prints an array of conductive pillars on the active electronic layer on a substrate, dispenses a curable polymer on the array of conductive pillars, molds the curable polymer by contacting the array of pillars with a mold structure to displace the curable polymer from the upper surfaces of the conductive pillars, curing the curable polymer to produce a hardened polymer, and forms a second active electronic layer on the hardened polymer such that the second active electronic layer is in electrical connection with the first active electronic layer through the conductive pillars.

摘要: A printing plate has a substrate, an array of cells on the substrate, wherein each cell corresponds to an element of a print image, a deformable polymer material localized into the cells such that each cell is at least partially formed from the deformable polymer material, a reservoir corresponding to each cell to collect the deformable polymer material as needed when the deformable polymer material is one of either melted or softened, and a heater to cause the deformable polymer material to either melt or soften. A method of forming a printing plate provides an array of cells, first heats the array of cells such that the deformable polymer material does one of either melts or softens, actuates the cells in the array to assume a deformed state, cools the array of cells to solidify the cells in the deformed state, second heats the cells such that the deformable polymer material in selected ones of the cells does one of either soften or melt and return to a less deformed state to form a printing pattern, and cools the surface to solidify the deformable polymer material in the printing pattern. A method of forming a printing plate provides an array of cells, heats the array of cells such that the deformable polymer material softens, actuates selected ones of the cells to deform surfaces of the selected ones to form a printing pattern, and cools the array of cells to solidify the printing pattern into a printing plate.
