Abstract: The present disclosure relates to methods and devices for wireless communication including an apparatus, e.g., a UE and/or a base station. In one aspect, the apparatus may measure one or more candidate bandwidths, each of the one or more candidate bandwidths corresponding to a candidate channel. The apparatus may also select an operating bandwidth of the one or more candidate bandwidths based on the measured one or more candidate bandwidths, the operating bandwidth corresponding to an operating channel. Additionally, the apparatus may adjust an energy detection threshold of a reference bandwidth based on a sensing bandwidth. The apparatus may also determine whether a transmission medium is available based on at least one of the adjusted energy detection threshold or an interference level of at least one signal.

Abstract: A method of wireless communication includes determining, by a communication device, a value of a counter associated with a listen-before-talk (LBT) operation. The method further includes, after determining the value of the counter and during a first portion of a deferral interval associated with the LBT operation, performing a first measurement of a particular duration to determine a first energy value. The method further includes, during a second portion of the deferral interval subsequent to the first portion, performing a second measurement of the particular duration to determine a second energy value. The method also includes determining whether to initiate a contention interval associated with the LBT operation based on the first energy value and further based on the second energy value.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, related to long-term-sensing-based inter-operator coexistence techniques for unlicensed high bands providing a measurement framework and candidate measurements, along with channel selection, per beam channel deselection, and dynamic frequency selection. In one aspect, a network entity may determine that a non-coordinating node satisfies a communication presence threshold based on the at least one long term sensing measurement, and transmitting, to a user equipment (UE), an indication of a remedial action, or adjusting the communication channel based on the determination. In another aspect, a UE may obtain at least one long term sensing measurement, and transmit a long term sensing report including the at least one long term sensing measurement.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a transmitting node may perform a directional listen-before-talk (LBT) using a sensing beam. The transmitting node may start a channel occupancy time (COT) after the directional LBT based at least in part on one of a COT claiming signal or a time stamp. The transmitting node may perform, to a receiving node, one or more transmissions during the COT using one or more transmit beams that are included in the sensing beam. Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. To support a reliable array response for wideband communications, a base station may configure a set of transmission instances for a set of signals distributed across a wideband carrier bandwidth. At least one transmission instance of the set of transmission instances may be configured in each sub-band of the carrier bandwidth. The base station may transmit the set of signals in the configured transmission instances to a user equipment (UE). The UE may receive the set of signals distributed across the carrier bandwidth and may measure, for the signals, a set of signal measurements corresponding to the set of sub-bands. Based on the signal measurements, the UE may determine a set of communication beams for the set of sub-bands. Using one or more of the determined communication beams, the UE may communicate with the base station in the carrier bandwidth.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for frame based operation and medium contention procedures in wireless networks. In some aspects, devices of a wireless network may perform receiver side contention operations. To illustrate, reference signals from a receiving device may be transmitted to a transmitting device and used by the transmitting device to estimate interference for transmitter side transmissions. Such receiver side reference signals may more accurately reflect the interference profile that transmissions sent by the transmitting device will face, such as when operating in a spectrum shared with many devices. The transmitting device may utilize the beam(s) that satisfy interference criteria when receiving the reference signals to transmit data. Receiver side frame based operation may provide a more stable interference profile which enables better rate prediction, and the better rate prediction may increase reliability and overall network and medium throughput.

Abstract: Aspects are provided that allow a base station to provide a user equipment (UE) multiple timing opportunities to transmit an acknowledgment to a pre-grant (APG) after receiving a pre-grant for a downlink transmission. The base station transmits to the UE a pre-grant for a downlink transmission from the base station, the pre-grant triggering a plurality of timing opportunities for the UE to send an APG to the base station. The UE performs, after receiving the pre-grant, a clear channel assessment (CCA) during at least one timing opportunity of the plurality of timing opportunities. The UE transmits one or more APGs to the base station when the CCA is successful, and the UE receives the downlink transmission from the base station in response to the one or more APGs. The UE transmits the one or more APGs to the base station until the downlink transmission is received from the base station.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described in which a transmitting device using shared radio frequency spectrum may perform a listen before talk (LBT) procedure for at least a minimum dwell time and, upon successful completion of the LBT procedure, may occupy the spectrum for up to a duration of a channel occupancy time (COT). The transmitting device may discontinue transmitting during the COT for a gap period, and resume transmitting subsequent to the gap period without performing another LBT procedure. The minimum dwell time may be based on a periodicity of a channel reservation signal transmitted by one or more other devices using the shared radio frequency spectrum. In some cases, the transmitting device may schedule one or more receiving devices with resources for transmissions during the COT, and the receiving devices may perform a LBT that is non-adjacent with an associated transmission.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A wireless device, such as a base station or a user equipment, may identify an energy detection threshold for a sensing beam associated with a channel access procedure, such as a listen-before-talk (LBT) procedure. The wireless device may also identify a set of transmit power parameters for one or more transmit beams. The wireless device may determine a degree of overlap between a coverage area of one or more transmit beams and a coverage area of the sensing beam. The wireless device may adjust the set of transmit power parameters, the energy detection threshold, or a combination thereof based on the degree of overlap. The wireless device may perform the channel access procedure based on the determining, the adjusting, or both.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A base station may determine a measurement scheme or uplink mode and then transmit an indication of the scheme or uplink mode to an associated user equipment (UE). The base station may identify a set of hidden nodes for the UE and configure the UE for autonomous or grant-based uplink transmissions accordingly. A UE may initiate a channel clearance scheme by transmitting a first channel clearance signal (e.g., a request-to-send message), which may include a UE identifier before transmitting an uplink message in the unlicensed radio frequency spectrum band. In response, the base station may transmit a second channel clearance signal (e.g., a clear-to-send message). In some cases, the second channel clearance signal may include control information or may be transmitted at a power level that is based on a characteristic of the UE.
