Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A configuration for a reference signal used to determine a non-linear behavior of transmission components at a transmitting device may be determined. The configuration for the reference signal may be determined based on signaling transmitted by the transmitting device, signaling transmitted by a device that receives the reference signal, or both. Additionally, or alternatively, the configuration for the reference signal may be determined based on a configuration of other signals transmitted by the transmitting device prior to or concurrently with the transmission of the reference signal. The determined configuration may be used to generate and transmit the reference signal or to determine a configuration of a received reference signal. In both cases, a non-linear response of transmission components at the transmitting device may be determined based on the reference signal.

Abstract: In one aspect, a method of wireless communication includes determining, by a user equipment (UE), one or more full-duplex symbols of a slot and one or more half-duplex symbols of the slot; determining, by the UE, to use a first type of interleaving for the one or more full-duplex symbols and a second type of interleaving for the one or more half-duplex symbols; frequency domain mapping, by the UE, virtual resources of the slot to physical resources of the slot based on the first type of interleaving and the second type of interleaving; and communicating, by the UE, based on the physical resources. Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to radio access networks with a capability to dynamically reconfigure a number of transmission-reception points (TRPs) in a single-frequency network (SFN) based on channel measurements. In one example, a mobile device receives a configuration message including a plurality of transmission configuration indicator (TCI) states, and potentially further including an indication identifying one or more of the TCI states as main TCI states. The message may further include an indication that it includes the plurality of TCI states. The UE receives a downlink traffic channel and demodulates the traffic channel based on only a subset of the TCI states (e.g., the main TCI state (s)). The UE further measures one or more channel parameters corresponding to each TCI state of the plurality of TCI states, and transmits a channel state information report based on the channel parameters. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for identifying, from a resource pool allocated for sidelink communications between UEs, a first number of resources for transmissions from the first UE to a second UE based on a set of one or more parameters shared between the first UE and the second UE and identifying, from the resource pool, a second number of resources for transmissions from the second UE to the first UE based on the shared set of one or more parameters. The first UE may communicate with the second UE using the first and the second number of resources and avoid using the remaining available resources for power saving. For example, the first UE and the second UE may avoid sidelink communications on time slots on which no subchannels belong to either the first subset or second number of the resources.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for a base station transmitting a modulation and coding scheme index corresponding to a modulation and coding scheme table to a user equipment (UE). The modulation and coding scheme index may be applied to encoding or decoding a transport block. The modulation and coding scheme may be associated with at least two modulation orders or a differential indication according to a modulation and coding scheme table. To determine which of the modulation orders for processing the transport block, the UE and the base station may use a prior modulation order associated with a prior transmission of the transport block. The UE may process the transport block by encoding or decoding the transport block based at least in part on the determined modulation order.

Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices, and systems for physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) repetition based on support signaling, such as an uplink grant that includes a time domain resource assignment for transmitting one or more data repetitions that may cross a slot boundary. The UE may identify directions (for example, uplink, downlink, flexible) for one or more symbols spanning a transmission duration of the time domain resource assignment. The directions may be determined using a dynamic slot format indication (SFI), or semi-static SFIs may be used as a fallback (when dynamic slot format indications do not meet a target reliability). The uplink grant may include an indication of which symbol directions can be used for the one or more data repetitions. A subset of the one or more symbols for scheduling the one or more data repetitions may be determined based on the identified directions.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for generating and decoding orthogonal frequency division (OFDM) waveforms with peak reduction tones (PRTs) designed to reduce PAPR. By generating PRT tones with a machine learning (e.g., neural network) based encoder and mapping some of the PRT tones to subcarriers used for physical channels or signals, PAPR may be reduced while efficiently using system resources.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In a multilevel encoding scheme, a transmitting device may divide a stream of information bits in a message into multiple substreams, and the transmitting device may input each substream to a different level of an encoder such that each substream is encoded separately. The transmitting device may also input excess bits to some levels of the encoder to add physical layer security to the message. To improve the chances that a receiving device is able to correctly decode the message, the receiving device may be configured to identify the levels at which the excess bits are encoded. Accordingly, the receiving device may be able to decode the information bits in the message and avoid attempting to decode the excess bits in the message as information bits.
