摘要: A system and method for providing notification when a state of a monitored system persists for a specified period of time utilizing distributed monitoring devices is disclosed. It is first detected, utilizing a monitoring device, that a monitored system is in a specified state. A timer within the monitoring device is initiated in response to detecting that the monitored system is in the specified state. The monitored system is monitored, utilizing the monitoring device, to determine whether the monitored system remains in the specified state. If the monitored system remains in the specified state for a specified period of time, notification is transmitted from the monitoring device to a client device via a network.

摘要: An active imaging system uses communication satellites to identify the location and physical attributes of a target. A transmitter emits a time-synchronized signal directed to a target. The transmitter radiates L-band RF signals. The transmitter can be positioned on an airborne or ground platform. A constellation of communication satellites receives and time stamps the time-synchronized signal reflected from the target to form an active image of the target. The constellation of communication satellites have multiple roles other than active imaging, such as providing voice and data communications. The time-synchronized signal reflected from the target can be received by multiple satellites within the constellation of communication satellites or by multiple antenna disposed on one satellite within the constellation of communication satellites.

摘要: A biological soil detector is provided, comprising: a solid support member; a specific indicator immobilized on the solid support member; and a retaining member holding the solid support thereon, the retaining member and solid support configured to facilitate contact between the solid support a surface. A method for the use of the foregoing detector is also provided, the method comprising: contacting the foregoing biological soil detector with a surface wherein the contacting initiates the modification of the specific indicator in the presence of bio soil; withdrawing the biological soil detector from the surface; and inspecting the solid support member of the detector for a detectable response to thereby determine whether the specific indicator immobilized on the solid support has interacted with biological soil. In still another aspect, the invention provides biological soil detector and a method for using the detector wherein the detector comprises: a solid support member treated with at least one amine or quaternary functional coating; and a specific indicator immobilized on the coating.

摘要: A product vulnerable to damage during shipping, such as an automobile windshield glass, for example, is mounted on a support pad and fixed onto the pad by wrapping a stretch wrapping film around the combination of the pad and glass. The borders of the pad extend beyond the borders of the glass so the package containing the glass can be stood on edge, but the edge of the glass is spaced away from the surface on which the package is stood. Thus the glass, secured to the pad, is suspended away from that surface. Multiple packages can be packed into a shipping container and the loaded container can be lifted and transported by a lift truck with lifting forks received in passageways formed in the container by notches in the bottom edges of the support pads. The pads and containers are made of die-cut corrugated fiberboard material although other material might also be used in the practice of the invention.
