Abstract:
The present invention describes the use of regenerated celluloses (RC) and (ORC) oxidized regenerated celluloses in the manufacture of scaffolds for drug delivery and tissue engineering. The RC and ORC are biodegradable and biocompatible. The carboxyl, aldehyde, or ketone groups present on the ORC scaffold serve as sites for cell, drug, protein and/or peptide attachment or further chemical modification to induce cell adhesion and subsequent proliferation. The method of manufacture of these membrane structures is simple, and produces flexible structures that maintain their strength when hydrated.
Abstract:
The invention provides exemplary aerosolization apparatus and methods for aerosolizing a substance. According to one exemplary method, a liquid is transferred from a first chamber into a second chamber having a substance that is in a dry state to form a solution. The solution is then transferred from the second chamber and onto an atomization member. The atomization member is operated to aerosolize the solution.
Abstract:
Aspects of the disclosed technology provide solutions for generating summaries of a source text based on user specified content parameters. In some aspects, a process of the disclosed technology can include steps for receiving a first source text, the source text having a first textual attribute, receiving a content parameter, providing the source text and the content parameter to a machine-learning (ML) model, and receiving, from the ML model, a proto text based on the source text and the content parameter, wherein the proto text has second textual attribute, and wherein the second textual attribute is different than the first textual attribute. Systems and machine-readable media are also provided.
Abstract:
Various embodiments of a method and system for determining sets of variant items are described. Various embodiments may include a system configured to generate multiple item pairs each corresponding to a particular item and another item determined to be similar to the particular item. For the particular item and the other item, each item pair may include a respective sequence of text strings (e.g., a title). For each item pair, the system may perform a corresponding text alignment and determine one or more misalignments of the item pair. The system may also assign a similarity score to each item pair; the similarity score may be dependent on the misalignment(s) determined for the particular item pair. Based on each aligned item pair and the similarity score assigned to that aligned item pair, the system may generate an indication specifying that each of a set of items are variants of each other.
Abstract:
Methods and systems are disclosed comprising a trap/event registration mechanism wherein a management system in a device network registers each trap/event type on a separate unique listener port. Each unique port number has intelligent binding of the kind of trap/event that can be received thereat. Each trap/event type is tightly bound to the special unique listener port so that the management system will know by virtue of receiving the trap/event at the unique port what kind of trap/event occurred on the device.
Abstract:
A device may provision two or more servers, each of the servers including a first network interface. In addition, the device may enable a second network interface in each of the provisioned servers, create a shared volume, assign the shared volume to each of the provisioned servers, and enable a clustering application on each of the provisioned servers to form a cluster comprising the provisioned servers, the cluster having a heartbeat via the second network interfaces.
Abstract:
A device for separating and isolating components of a biological fluid comprising a container for containing the fluid to be processed, a tube cap assembly for closing the container while providing filling and extraction communication therewith, a float assembly disposed within the container for funneling and controlling biological fluid flow into an inverted domed shaped isolation chamber within the float and controlling the biological fluid flow out of the isolation chamber for effecting an encapsulation or a sealed isolation of at least one component or fraction of the biological fluid flow within the isolation chamber during a centrifugation process. The device further comprising a flexible tube for connecting an extraction passageway disposed within the float assembly and an extraction valve of the tube cap assembly for allowing extraction of at least the one component or fraction encapsulated or isolated within the chamber.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to enzymes and processes. In particular, there is described an isolated polypeptide comprising the amino acid sequence corresponding to Citrobacter freundii phytase or a homologue, a modified form, a functional equivalent or an effective fragment thereof. There is also described a host cell transformed or transfected with a nucleic acid encoding a bacterial phytase enzyme or a modified form as well as the use of such a phytase or modified form in food or animal feed.
