摘要： In a power conversion apparatus that boosts a solar light voltage, converts it to AC and supplies AC power to a load or system, a second inverter is connected in series to one of two terminals on the AC side of a first inverter that uses, as its DC source, a DC voltage boosted from a solar light voltage by a chopper circuit. A third inverter is connected in series to the other terminal. Then, output voltages of the second and third inverters are controlled to be equal, and an output voltage is provided by using the sum of the generated voltages of the first, second, and third inverters. Thus, a mid-point potential of the DC power source is made equivalent to an intermediate potential of the output voltage of the power conversion apparatus, that is, the mid-point potential (ground potential) of a system.

摘要： A ballast for a vehicle metal halide lamp is simplified using a DC-AC one-step-boost high frequency ballast system. To satisfy requirements specific to a metal halide lamp, a discharge developing capacitor is installed on a primary side of a transformer in parallel with a DC power supply, ensuring discharge development after a breakdown. To reduce the size and increase the operating voltage of the transformer, a booster circuit and voltage-doubler circuit are installed on the primary side and secondary side of the transformer, respectively. To reduce the size of the transformer and achieve a stable discharge, the ballast frequency is swept within a range between the specified minimum frequency and maximum frequency so that the center frequency is from 80 kHz to 120 kHz, and the same frequency is unsustained for more than 10 msec.

摘要： A redundancy circuit for a diode circuit composed of a plurality of diodes connected in series, according to the present invention, includes: bypass circuits, each of which is connected in parallel to each group, the diode circuit being divided into a plurality of group, each group having one or more diodes connected in series, and each bypass circuit including a first voltage-controlled switching device connected in parallel to the corresponding group, and a detection circuit which has a constant voltage device and a fusing circuit, both of which are connected in series, the detection circuit being connected in parallel to the corresponding group; and when, because of increased resistance of any diode, a voltage applied to one of the groups exceeds a given voltage defined by the constant voltage device, the voltage-controlled switching device is turned on so as to bypass a current that is to pass through the corresponding group, whereby continuing the operation of the whole apparatus even when one or more diodes are broken down.

The laser power supply apparatus includes an inverter having arms, each arm including high-speed semiconductor switches connected in series, for directly converting a DC high voltage from a DC power supply to a series of AC output pulses having a much higher AC voltage than the DC high voltage and supplied to the laser device by simultaneously turning on and off those high-speed semiconductor switches in each of the arms, and for furnishing the series of AC output pulses to the laser device at a pair of output terminals.
