摘要: According to the present invention, a brushless alternator includes a stationary field winding, a rotor with a rotary shaft, a bearing rotatably supporting an end portion of the rotary shaft, a stator, a protective cover, and a rectifier covered by the protective cover. The rectifier includes a plurality of main rectifying elements for providing a DC output of the alternator, a heat sink having the main rectifying elements provided thereon and working to dissipate heat generated by the main rectifying elements, and a plurality of auxiliary rectifying elements for supplying DC field current to the field winding. The auxiliary rectifying elements are arranged in an axial space between the bearing and the protective cover and kept away from the heat sink. With such an arrangement, it is possible to minimize heat transfer from the heat sink to the auxiliary rectifying elements, thereby minimizing the temperature of the auxiliary rectifying elements.

摘要: A video editing scheme for enabling a video editing operation on the coded video data efficiently. In a system in which the coded video data are decoded and displayed on a video display device, events including scene changes are detected from the coded video data, and icons are produced from the coded video data in correspondence to the detected events. On the other hand, playback possible positions from which the coded video data can be playbacked smoothly are determined, and an index information including an information on the produced icons and the determined playback possible positions is managed. Then, a plurality of icons are displayed on a single display, and a user is allowed to specify a desired icon among the displayed icons on the single display. Then, one playback possible position corresponding to the desired icon specified by the user is obtained according to the managed index information, and the coded video data are supplied to the video display device starting from the obtained playback possible position.

摘要: A microlens array is provided on a light-outgoing side of a monochromic LCD element having a plurality of pixels each corresponding to any one of the three colors R, G, and B. Microlenses of the microlens array respectively correspond to pixel groups each of which is composed of three pixels corresponding to the three colors R, G, and B, respectively. Light fluxes having passed through the microlens array are converged at an entrance pupil position of a projection lens by a field lens and form pixel enlarged images corresponding to the colors R, G, and B. At the entrance pupil position, there is provided a color filter having color regions which respectively correspond to the colors to which the pixel enlarged images correspond. With this arrangement, it is possible to make a diverging angle smaller, at which light passing through the LCD element and the microlens array and being converged on the projection lens by the field lens is diverged. Therefore, there is no need to make the projection lens have a great diameter. As a result, it is possible to provide a projection-type color LCD device having a single-panel arrangement which can be produced at lower costs.

摘要: Particles of a lens coating material for forming a primary film are deposited from a direction toward which the surfaces of the lens prisms of a Fresnel lens face. Next, a light absorbing film is formed, conventionally, by sputtering, on both the lens surfaces on which the previously deposited primary film was formed and on the non-lens surfaces (on which no primary film was formed). This light absorbing film is intended to absorb types of undesirable or "invalid" light (e.g., "flaring light"). Subsequently, the films are removed from only the lens surfaces. Accordingly, a Fresnel lens having "invalid" light absorbing films only on the non-lens surfaces is more easily fabricated within a shorter time and at a reduced cost. Moreover, it is also possible to reduce the generation of "cone" and "rainbow" effects caused by "flaring light" when the Fresnel lens is used as a field lens of a projection-type image display device.

摘要: A method of concealing a bright defect in a transmission display device which displays by selectively transmitting plural beams different wavelength bands shed onto corresponding pixels of a transmission display element through a microlens according to a voltage applied to each pixel is arranged such that only a beam of a wavelength area shed onto a defective luminance point pixel is selectively blocked. On the other hand, the beam shed onto normal pixels surrounding the defective pixel, wherein a bright defect is not generated would be transmitted through the liquid crystal display panel without being blocked. Therefore, the method enables only the defective luminance point pixel to be concealed without affecting the normal pixels, thereby improving a display quality of the transmission display device.
