摘要： A lubricant composition comprising a major amount of baseoil lubricant and a minor amount of lubricant additive. The lubricant additive includes (a) a dispersant containing at least one member selected from hydrocarbyl-substituted succinimides, hydrocarbyl-substituted amines, and Mannich base adducts derived from hydrocarbyl-substituted phenols condensed with an aldehyde and an amine, and (b) a viscosity index improver that includes a substantially linear block copolymer having a number average molecular weight as determined by gel permeation chromatography ranging from about 50,000 to about 250,000. The block copolymer is derived from a conjugated diene monomer containing no less than 5 carbon atoms and a monoalkenylarene monomer, wherein the block copolymer has an aromatic content ranging from about 10 wt. % to about 50 wt. % and an olefinic unsaturation ranging from about 0.5 wt. % to about 5 wt. %.

摘要： An additive composition comprising a graft and derivatized copolymer prepared from ethylene and at least one (C.sub.3 -C.sub.10) alpha- monoolefin and, optionally, a polyene selected from non-conjugated dienes and trienes comprising from about 15 to 80 mole percent of ethylene, from about 20 to 85 mole percent of said (C.sub.3 -C.sub.10) alpha- monoolefin and from about 0 to 15 mole percent of said polyene having an average molecular weight ranging from about 5,000 to 500,000, which has been reacted with at least one olefinic carboxylic acid acylating agent to form one or more acylating reaction intermediates characterized by having a carboxylic acid acylating function within their structure and reacting said reaction intermediate with an amino-aromatic compound to form said graft derivatized copolymer, and a lubricating oil composition containing same are provided.

摘要： Disclosed is a smoking article containing a rod containing a smokable composition, an optional wrapper for the rod, and at least one polymer or oligomer comprising monomer units of a polycarboxylic acid ester disposed on or in the rod, the wrapper, or both. The polycarboxylic acid ester contains an acid moiety having at least two carboxylic groups, and at least two alcohol moieties independently selected from those corresponding to a cycloalkyl alcohol or an aryl alcohol. The cycloalkyl alcohol or aryl alcohol is a flavorant, or chemesthetic agent, or both. In addition, a method for the controlled release of these flavorant or chemesthetic agents is described, which comprises pyrolyzing at least one polymer or oligomer.

摘要： Electrically heated cigarettes used in an electrical smoking system include a flavoring-release additive and sorbent effective to remove one or more gas-phase constituents of mainstream tobacco smoke. The flavoring-release additive includes gamma cyclodextrin and at least one flavoring. Flavoring is released in a cigarette upon the flavoring-release additive reaching at least a minimum temperature during smoking. The flavoring-release additive can have various forms including, for example, powder and films.

摘要： In one embodiment is provided a polymer blend of poly(vinyl acetate) (PVAc) and poly(acrylic acid) (PAA), wherein the poly(vinylacetate) is present in an amount ranging between about 20 wt % and about 80 wt %, and poly(acrylic acid) is present in an amount ranging between about 80 wt % and about 20 wt %, based on the total weight of the blend. In another embodiment is provided a fiber produced from this polymer blend, and which has cells therein. In another embodiment is provided a flavorant release material comprising the porous fiber disclosed herein, and one or more flavorants disposed in a longitudinally extending core within the fiber. In another embodiment is provided a polymer fiber membrane containing a hollow, porous fiber formed from the polymer blend disclosed herein. In another embodiment is provided a filter containing the fiber described herein. In another embodiment is provided a process for producing the fibers disclosed herein by addition of the polymers to an extruder or blender, and extruding or melt spinning the mixture into a fiber containing cells therein.

摘要： Block copolymers having a molecular weight distribution of between 1.0 and 5.0 comprising at least one block of polymerized alkyl methacrylate monomer(s), wherein from 50 to 100% by weight of the monomers for forming the alkyl methacrylate block are C12-C30 alkyl methacrylates, and a block of a polymerized conjugated alkadiene. The block copolymers of the present invention are useful as viscosity index improvers in lubricating oil compositions as well as compatibilizers for compositions containing both polymethacrylates and olefin copolymers or hydrogenated block polymers.
