    摘要： The process of preparing diphenyl oxide from caustically hydrolyzing chlorobenzene, wherein phenol is a by-product, is improved by recycling the phenol. The improvement not only maximizes the yield of diphenyl oxide while minimizing the yield of phenol, but it also increases the yield of desirable by-products, such as phenylphenols and biphenylylphenyl ethers.

    摘要： A system for providing auxiliary power comprises a primary circuit including a primary pump, an output line for providing primary power, and a return line. An auxiliary circuit includes an auxiliary pump, an output line for providing the auxiliary power and a return line. The auxiliary circuit also includes a valve for controlling fluid flow in the output and return line of the auxiliary circuit. A reservoir is connected to the primary return line and to the auxiliary return line. A controlled leakage apparatus for cooling the auxiliary pump is connected to the auxiliary circuit, the reservoir and the primary circuit, and in response to a predetermined output in the primary circuit directs a portion of auxiliary output fluid to the reservoir. Approximately all of the auxiliary output fluid is directed to the auxiliary output line when the primary circuit provides less than the predetermined output. The auxiliary circuit includes a drive apparatus connected to a vehicle for operating the auxiliary pump whenever the vehicle is moving.

    摘要： Sinusoidal shaped member units and support member units are parts that form pre-stressed assemblies having flexural properties. Sinusoidal shaped members are relaxed material members that have been elastically deformed. Support members maintain the elastically deformed state of the sinusoidal shaped members. The sinusoidal shaped members and support members are organized into pre-stressed curvilinear assemblies containing stored elastic potential energy that is equal to the work done by the forces that deformed their pre-stressed structure. The assemblies' sinusoidal shaped members and support members are adapted to use materials having exceptional mechanical properties and flexural strength. This includes nano-composites and/or shape memory alloys. The assemblies' pre-stressed state enhances its mechanical, electrical and structural performance. The size, number, density and possible geometric configurations of the sinusoidal shaped member units and support member units within an assembly/structure is vast. Products of this sinusoidal building system have mechanical and structural applications and can be manufactured and/or deployed.
