摘要： A memory medium for information storage and reproduction and an apparatus for reading information from the memory medium are set forth herein. The memory medium includes a solid storage layer formed of a pyroelectric and electro-optic material, and information is stored in the medium through local residual polarization of the layer owing to the pyroelectrical property of the material. The apparatus includes: (a) a light source for emitting a laser beam toward the medium; (b) a power source for applying electric power to the light source; (c) an optical system for converging the beam on the layer, so as to form a beam spot with a suitable size; (d) a sensing device for detecting an intensity of a laser beam reflected by, or a laser beam transmitted through, the layer, the intensity being changed owing to variation in refractive index of the layer due to the local residual polarization, the changes in the refractive index being based on the electro-optical property of the material, the sensing device generating a detection signal indicative of an intensity of the detected beam; and (e) a control device responsive to the sensing device, for generating a reproduction signal corresponding to the detection signal, the reproduction signal being used for the information reproduction.

摘要： A keyboard including an upper casing which has a key-holder member for movably supporting keys with a movable electrode, and a lower casing which has an integrally formed upraised portion which defines a recess open in the bottom wall of the lower casing. A printed-circuit board is held in direct contact with the top wall of the upraised portion of the lower casing such that stationary electrodes on the printed-circuit board are opposite to the corresponding movable electrodes. The printed-circuit board may be a flexible film-like member on which an elastic sheet having elastically collapsible cap portions is disposed such that the cap portions cooperate with the film-like printed-circuit board to form enclosures in which the corresponding movable and stationary electrodes are accommodated, and such that the cap portions collapse upon operation of the keys for moving of the movable electrodes toward the stationary electrodes. The film-like board has an air vent communicating with each enclosure, while the top wall of the upraised portion of the lower casing has a groove communicating with the air vent, so that the air in the enclosure may flow into the groove through the air vent upon collapse of the cap portion.

摘要： An ATM switching system 1 is provided with an ATM switch 11, a reserved connection memory 12 for storing reserved connection information, a call history memory 13 for maintaining call histories of requests for connection from subscriber's terminal units 2−1 to 2−n, and a call-signal processing section 15. The call-signal processing section 15 generates a request for connection with respect to a trunk ATM switching network 3 by the use of the call histories in the call history memory 13 in the case where no call was issued from the subscriber's terminal units, and stores response results thereof in the reserved connection memory 16. Thereafter, when there was a call from the subscriber's terminal units 2−1 to 2−n and contents of the request for connection thereof are the same as the reserved connection information, which has been stored in the reserved connection memory 16, processing for connection is executed by the use of the reserved connection information. As a result, an ATM switching system by which response becomes possible in even the case where a large amount of calls are issued at the same time, besides reduction in cost can also be attained is provided.
