摘要: A hydraulically operated friction clutch suitable for use in motorcycle. The clutch has driving and driven friction discs axially slidably mounted on a clutch outer and a clutch inner, respectively. These friction discs are adapted to be pressed onto a pressure receiving plate by a pressing plate to make friction driving engagement between the clutch outer and the clutch inner. An annular carrier integrated with the pressing plate is disposed at the opposite side of the clutch inner to the pressing plate. A pressure receiving member is mounted on the center of the carrier through a release bearing adjacent to the end of a driven shaft connected to the clutch inner. The pressure receiving member has a cylindrical form closed at its one end and provided at its open end with a flange which is retained by the inner race of the release bearing. The pressure receiving member is coaxially and axially movably received in a bore formed in the driven shaft.

In particular, the present invention relates to methods for identifying subjects with increased susceptibility to developing cancer, such as hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) where the subject has an inflammatory disease, such as, but not limited to cirrhosis, by identifying a variance or polymorphism in the human EGF gene. In particular, the methods of the present invention relate to identifying subjects with increased susceptibility to developing cancer such as HCC, where the subject has an inflammatory disease, such as but not limited to cirrhosis, and the subject is identified to have a single nucleotide polymorphism 61A>G in the 5′UTR of the EGF gene. Alternatively, the methods of the present invention relate to identifying subjects with increased susceptibility to developing cancer such as HCC, where the subject has an inflammatory disease, such as but not limited to cirrhosis, and the subject is identified to have increased expression of EGF as compared to a reference level of EGF expression. The present invention also relates to administering an effective amount of an anti-cancer therapy to subjects identified to have an increased susceptibility of developing cancer such as HCC by the methods as disclosed herein, and kits to identify a subject with a 61A>G polymorphism in the 5′UTR of the EGF gene or kits to determine increased EGF expression in subjects with chronic inflammatory disease.

摘要: This invention provides an apparatus and the like, which render an object from a predetermined view direction by a method using microfacet billboarding using 2D images obtained by photographing an object to be rendered from a plurality of photographing directions, and a depth image of the object to be rendered. This method obtains the geometrical shape of the object to be rendered on the basis of the depth image and the like, and approximates the geometrical shape using a set of microfacets whose directions change depending on the view direction. By mapping 2D images selected based on the view direction and photographing directions onto the respective microfacets as texture images, an arbitrary shaped object and landscape can be efficiently rendered.

摘要: An image display device according to the present invention comprises a back panel on which a plurality of pixels each having a thin film electron emitter are arranged two-dimensionally, a front panel disposed opposite the back panel on which phosphor layer is formed, and a sealing frame with which the back panel and the front panel are fixed mutually to seal the plurality of pixels and the phosphor layer in a space enclosed by the back panel, the front panel, and the sealing frame, and is characterized in that double-layered signal lines each electrically connected to a group of the plurality of pixels are formed on the back panel, each of the double-layered signal lines consists of a lower-level electrode made from a silver paste and an upper-level electrode covering at least a part of the lower-level electrode laminated in this order on the back panel. The lower-level electrode is shaped e.g. by coating a groove formed in a surface of the back panel with the silver paste, and a surface of the upper-level electrode is used e.g. for an electrode of the thin film electron emitter, also. According to the configuration, the present invention reduces wiring resistance of the signal lines each electrically connected to the thin film electron emitters as well as improves planarity of each tunneling junction of the thin film electron emitters to suppress dispersion of electron emission property thereof among the pixels.
