摘要: A method and apparatus for treating a wet or moist lignocellulosic material at a moisture content which is in a range from above the Xfsp value of the material down to about 0.1 kg water/kg dry below the Xfsp value, where Xfsp is the fibre saturation point value, with rapid warming of the wet or moist lignocellulosic material to a level that natural polymers in the lignocellulosic material soften, which changes the microstructure and results in improved properties of the lignocellulosic material.

摘要: Methods of producing cellulosic or lignocellulosic materials for use in papermaking include treating a cellulosic or lignocellulosic dry feedstock having a first average molecular weight with ionizing radiation, and controlling the dose of ionizing radiation such that the average molecular weight of the feedstock is reduced to a predetermined level. A method of producing an irradiated paper product includes treating a paper product including a first carbohydrate-containing material having a first molecular weight with ionizing radiation, and controlling the dose of ionizing radiation so as to provide an irradiated paper product with a second carbohydrate-containing material having a second molecular weight higher than the first molecular weight. Pulp and paper products are produced.

摘要: A print is produced on a semiporous recording medium. The semiporous recording medium is dried to an equilibrated 20% RH. Hydrophilic liquid is deposited on the medium in a selected fluid pattern within 15 seconds after the completion of drying. The recording medium is charged so that a charge pattern of charged and discharged areas is formed on the recording medium and the discharged areas correspond to the fluid pattern. Charged dry ink having charge of the same sign as the charge in the charged areas on the recording medium is deposited on the medium in a pattern corresponding to the selected fluid pattern. The dry ink is at least in part hydrophilic, so the dry ink adheres to the hydrophilic liquid, and at least some of the liquid is drawn into or around the deposited dry ink particles.

摘要: A uniform semipermeable membrane supporting body which does not cause any defect in the semipermeable membrane coating layer when a semipermeable membrane coating liquid is applied, and is free of low density defects. The wet-laid nonwoven fabric for a semipermeable membrane supporting body according to the present disclosure contains a synthetic fiber as a main constituent fiber, has been subjected to hot press processing, has a pressure loss at a face velocity of 5.3 cm/second of from 50 Pa to 3000 Pa and a sheet density of 0.5 g/cm3 or greater, and satisfies the evaluation criterion of condition 1 or condition 2: (Condition 1) Spots are not observed when solid printing is carried out with a printing ink over the entire surface of one surface of the wet-laid nonwoven fabric for a semipermeable membrane supporting body (rolled product, cut to a length of 1800 mm in the length direction); and (Condition 2) When a wet-laid nonwoven fabric for a semipermeable membrane supporting body that has been cut to a size of 210 mm×297 mm is subjected to solid printing over the entire surface of one surface with a printing ink, is used as a sample, spots are not observed in 95% or more of the samples among such samples thus extracted.

摘要: A method for treating a paper to provide at least a part of it with anisotropic electric conductivity, by i) applying to the paper a dispersion comprising a non-aqueous, liquid dispersing agent and conductive particles, ii) applying an electric field over at least part of the paper, so that a number of the conductive particles are aligned with the field, thus creating conductive pathways, and wholly or partially eliminating the dispersing agent and allowing the paper to dry thereby stabilizing and preserving the conductive pathways in the paper as well as paper so produced. The paper may alternatively be prepared from a cellulose dispersion comprising conductive particles and subjecting the dispersion for similar aligning of the conductive particles.
