Abstract: A wireless sensor network at a monitored location can be configured to generate sensor channel(s) of data to assess operational conditions at the monitored location. Inputs based on the sensor channel(s) of data are provided to a host system for analysis of a demand to one or more resources at the monitored location. Response messages can be generated based on the demand analysis and transmitted to actuator(s) at the monitored location to effect an adjustment to the operational conditions.

Abstract: An air conditioner includes an outdoor unit for circulating refrigerant, a plurality of indoor units for circulating water, and a heat exchange device configured to connect the outdoor unit to the plurality of indoor units and perform heat exchange between the refrigerant and the water. The heat exchange device includes a plurality of ports to which the plurality of indoor units are connected. The air conditioner further includes a controller configured to control flow of the water between the heat exchange device and the plurality of indoor units, and to search pipes respectively connected to the plurality of ports. The controller can control the flow of water such that water at a first temperature flows to some of the plurality of ports and the water at a second temperature lower than the first temperature flows to other some of the plurality of ports.

Opening areas of the plurality of openings increase as locations of the plurality of openings become farther away from a point, at which air is supplied to the supply air duct by the blower.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method, performed by a control device (100), for cleaning an evaporative humidifier and cooler apparatus (1) for humidification and cooling of air, the apparatus (1) comprises: a cooling and humidification media (2), which is configured to receive and evaporate a fluid (4); a fluid distribution element (6), which is configured to distribute the fluid (4) to the cooling and humidification media (2); and a tray (8) arranged to collect fluid (4) downstream of the cooling and humidification media (2), wherein the fluid (4) distributed by the fluid distribution element (6) is collected from the tray (8). The method comprises: determining (s101) the condition of the cooling and humidification media (2) based on data from a sensor device (10) arranged in fluid communication with the fluid (4) downstream of the cooling and humidification media (2); and supplying (s102) at least one cleaning fluid (12; 14) to the cooling and humidification media (2) dependent on the condition of the cooling and humidification media (2). The invention also relates to a system (200) comprising an evaporative humidifier and cooler apparatus (1) for humidification and cooling of air, a control device (100) and a sensor device (10) arranged in communication with the control device (100).

Abstract: An integrated method for assessing metabolic rate and maintaining indoor air quality and efficient ventilation energy use. A physical sensor assesses room occupancy. An actuated ventilation system is set to a constant CO2 level in a predetermined healthy range, where the actuated ventilation system includes a CO2 sensor. The actuated ventilation system sets a first air ventilation rate and the sensor measures a first CO2 level. The system determines whether CO2 level is in a healthy range, if not then the CO2 level is adjusted by setting a subsequent air ventilation rate. A subsequent CO2 level is measured. If the CO2 level is determined to meet a predetermined healthy range, then an assessment of change of air ventilation rate (Δ ACH) is determined. The determination of air change rate can be further augmented by a physical pressure based measurement. The overall metabolic rate is generated.

Abstract: An air conditioner and a method for controlling an air conditioner are provided. The air conditioner may include a case that forms a space therein with an open lower side; a panel that is disposed at lower side of the case, and has an inlet and a plurality of outlets disposed around the inlet; a fan that is disposed in the case; a plurality of wind adjuster that is disposed in each of the plurality of outlets, and adjusts a direction of air flowing through each of the plurality of outlets; a camera that obtains an image of an indoor space; and a controller that controls the plurality of wind adjusters based on image information obtained from the camera. The controller may divide the plurality of outlets into a first area outlet and a second area outlet, and adjust each of the plurality of wind adjusters so that airflows of air discharged through the first area outlet and airflows of air discharged through the second area outlet are formed differently.
