    摘要: Fibre material is defibrated and dispersed in an air flow and introduced through an inlet (2) into a forming head (1). In the forming head (1) the inlet transforms to a single-curved convex surface (5), which leads all the way to an accept outlet (6). A screen (7) is located at adjustable distance from the curved surface (5) for dividing ingoing fibre/air flow into accept and reject. An outlet (10) for the reject is located behind the screen (7). At a distance of 10-150 mm from the accept outlet (6) a running air-pervious support (27) is located, on which the web precipitates.

    摘要: Nonwoven wiper having improved absorbency characteristics and streak-free wiping properties having a laminate construction including a relatively high basis weight middle layer of meltblown thermoplastic microfibers with fibers added and, on one side, a lightweight layer of generally continuous filament thermoplastic fibers having a larger average diameter with a microfiber layer on the other side. These wipers are strong, fabric-like, and are useful for a wide variety of applications including industrial uses, food services, as well as many others. The continuous filament layers provide strength and low lint properties while the combination exhibits improved wiping characteristics. The laminate is preferably bonded by application of heat and pressure and the individual compounents are preferably treated with a surfactant. The preferred combination of a layer of meltblown polypropylene microfibers with fibers added having on one side a spunbonded polypropylene filament layer and on the other a microfiber layer is particularly effective as an all-purpose wiper.

    摘要: Apparatus for and methods of forming airlaid fibrous webs having a multiplicity of layers and/or discrete particles of absorbent gelling material dispersed through at least a portion of the web. The apparatus is of the type which includes a laydown drum having a foraminous forming element, a primary vacuum chamber, and a dusting layer vacuum chamber; a primary hood; and a dusting layer hood. The dusting layer of fibers formed on the laydown drum acts to block the passage of particles or fibers entrained in a first fiber stream which is airlaid over the dusting layer so as to minimize equipment plugging problems and the loss of particles or fibers through the foraminous forming element. The primary vacuum chamber of the laydown drum preferably spans the primary hood and a portion of the dusting layer hood so that the dusting layer is not sheared off, damaged, or destroyed as the laydown drum rotates to the position where the first fiber stream is deposited over the dusting layer.
