Abstract:
An elbow terminator has a socket in which an electrical probe is disposed. The terminator is insertable onto an electrical bushing such that a tongue of the bushing is received in the socket of the terminator, and the probe of the terminator is electrically coupled to a contact sleeve disposed within the tongue. A latching mechanism produces positive latching between the tongue and socket when the tongue has been inserted to a predescribed depth within the socket. In order to enable an operator to visually observe that the tongue has been inserted to the prescribed depth, the bushing carries a color band which becomes completely disposed (invisible) in the socket when positive latching occurs. Alternatively, the bushing can be provided with gauge tabs which become aligned with a witness line formed on the terminator when positive latching occurs.

Electrical conduits and conductors may be sealed using a chamber configured for attachment to a conduit through which at least one conductor runs such that the at least one conductor also runs through the chamber. A vent allows gas that enters the chamber from the conduit to exit the chamber. A sealing compound fills the chamber and surrounds the conductor and the vent.

This invention relates to a socket assembly for a meter box. The socket assembly comprises a plurality of power line connectors for connection to electric power lines of an electric power line system and a meter bypass system. Each power line connector comprises a jaw, a jaw support and first and second sockets. The jaw support comprises a base, a jaw mount having spaced apart flanges and a contact arm. The base, jaw mount and contact arm are formed as a one-piece metal structure to provide a joint-free path for flow of electrical current. The first socket is formed between the jaw and jaw mount for receiving an electrical connector of the electric meter. The second socket is formed between the jaw and contact arm for receiving a slide connector of a bypass system. The slide connector is slidable between a meter operating position and a meter bypass position.

A method of assembling a power distribution apparatus including a plurality of conductive circuit plates, each conductive plate including a plurality of contact pads that are interconnected by removable connecting links. The method includes selectively removing a portion of the connecting links on each conductive circuit plate to form discrete circuits on the conductive plates, stacking the conductive plates, mounting contact pins to selected contact pads, and heating the stacked plates and the mounted contact pins, thereby reflowing the conductive circuit plates and the pins to create solder joints therebetween.

A socket assembly for mounting an electric meter comprising a plurality of power line connector subassemblies for connecting electric power lines to the socket assembly. Each subassembly comprises a generally U-shaped lug of electrically conductive material defining a saddle for supporting one of the electric power lines, a connector and a screw. The connector comprises a body of electrically conductive material having opposite sides slidably engageable with respective legs of the lug. A horn of electrically conductive material projects from the body for connection to a bypass conductor forming at least part of an electrical path for bypassing the electric meter. The screw is threadable through a screw opening in the connector to a position in which the screw is adapted to contact said power line in the saddle of the lug.

A metal halide light fixture includes three generally cylindrical parts including a lamp housing with a lamp and a lamp socket, an intermediate sleeve member secured to the lamp housing, and a third focusing housing secured to the intermediate sleeve member. The focusing housing includes a reflector member including a concave reflecting surface and a lens. The lamp housing carries a T-6 lamp or similar lamp which includes a cylindrical arc tube having a significant axial length. Rotating the focusing housing moves the reflector member which surrounds the lamp axially relative to the arc tube to shift the light output pattern from floodlight to spotlight. The lamp housing is connected to a mounting structure through a swivel connection. Wires from the lamp socket are fed through a port in the lamp housing and a channel in the mounting structure and are potted in place. Threaded connections between the three principal parts are protected by O-ring seals.

Provided are active balancing modules that control voltage imbalances between capacitors stacked in a series arrangement and methods for their manufacture. These modules are simple and inexpensive to manufacture, and versatile. They may be used alone or they may be combined together to form a multi-module active balancing circuitry for a plurality of capacitors stacked in a series arrangement. The modules may further be aligned in either a side-by-side topology or an overlapping topology.

A low resistance fuse apparatus and methods of manufacture includes a first intermediate insulation layer, a second intermediate insulation layer, and a free standing fuse element layer independently formed and fabricated from each of the first and second intermediate insulation layers, The fuse element layer includes first and second contact pads and a fusible link extending therebetween. The first and second intermediate insulation layers extend on opposite sides of the free standing fuse element layer and are laminated together with the fuse element layer therebetween.
