The welding the tip to the base portion includes: applying the energy beam continuously, while moving the irradiation position of the energy beam, in a first period of time; and applying the energy beam a plurality of times according to a pulsed output pattern, while moving the irradiation position of the energy beam, in a second period of time subsequent to the first period of time.

摘要: Provided is a substrate holding member that includes a base body and a plurality of protrusions formed on a surface of the base body and that is capable of suppressing generation of particles due to peeling-off or cracking of protective layers of the protrusions. A substrate holding member includes a base body and a plurality of protrusions formed on a surface of the base body. Each of the protrusions includes a base portion and a protective layer, the base portion having a flat upper end surface and being made from a silicon carbide sintered compact, the protective layer being made of silicon carbide. The protective layer includes a region on at least a part of the base portion from an edge of the upper end surface to a lower end of the base portion, the region being exposed along an entire periphery. Preferably, the protective layer is formed so as to cover at least only a part of an upper portion of the base portion, the upper portion including the upper end surface.

摘要: A spark plug enabling suppression of reduction in the strength of an insulator. In the spark plug, a rear end portion of an engagement portion formed on an outer peripheral surface of a tubular insulator extending along an axial line from a front side to a rear side, is engaged with a to-be-engaged portion of a tubular metal shell disposed on the outer peripheral surface of the insulator. The insulator is made from ceramic such as alumina. On at least a part of the outer peripheral surface of the insulator, a projected and recessed portion is formed on the front side relative to the engagement portion so as to helically extend in a circumferential direction of the insulator.

摘要: A gas sensor includes a sensor element, metal terminals, a tubular separator that holds the metal terminals, lead wires connected to rear ends of the metal terminals, and an elastic member that holds the lead wires extending rearward from the separator. Each metal terminal includes a forward end portion electrically connected to an electrode portion, a central portion, and a lead wire connection portion. The forward end portion or the central portion is held by the separator. The central portion and the lead wire connection portion are connected to each other through a neck portion. The rearward-facing rearmost surface of the central portion is engaged with a forward-facing surface of the separator, and the circumferential length of a first connection portion between the central portion and the neck portion is longer than the circumferential length of a second connection portion between the lead wire connection portion and the neck portion.

In the second path, two inlets of the fuel gas in each of power generating cells included in the second path are located at a first position PA and a second position PB, and the position of one outlet of the fuel gas in each power generating cell is located at a third position PC. In the third path, an inlet of the fuel gas in each of power generating cells included in the third path is located at a position coinciding with the third position PC when the power generating cells are viewed in the stacking direction, and an outlet of the fuel gas in each power generating cell is located at a position between the first position PA and the second position PB.
