    摘要: A liquid crystal display device includes a liquid crystal panel, at least one optical sheet substantially rectangular in shape, where first and second openings are formed on the end edges of one side of the optical sheet at a predetermined interval, a main frame in which the optical sheet(s) are placed, and a sub-frame arranged above the main frame, in which the main frame is provided with first small protrusions jutting upward corresponding to the first openings at the top surface, while the rear surface of the sub-frame is provided with second small protrusions jutting downward corresponding to the second openings, thereupon the first small protrusions are inserted into the first openings of the optical sheet(s) and the second small protrusions are inserted into the second openings to connect and install the sub-frame to the main frame, and the optical sheet(s) are then aligned and fixed. Accordingly, the optical sheets are aligned better and firmly fixed to achieve larger display screens and thinner liquid crystal display devices.

    摘要: A simple matrix drive type liquid crystal display device with enhanced display quality is provided. In line-at-a-time scanning, a scanning electrode group is supplied with two selecting voltages alternately; a signal electrode group is supplied with two voltages close to the intermediate value between the two selecting voltages. Which voltage is applied to the signal electrode is determined in accordance with the selecting voltage applied to the scanning electrode at that moment and a video signal in such a way that selected picture elements receive a large voltage and non-selected picture elements receive a small voltage. The output voltage of the power source circuit, which supplies power to the scanning circuit and the signal circuit that apply voltages to the scanning and signal electrode groups, is monitored so that, if the voltage is below a predetermined value, the liquid display device will not start display even when it receives a signal requesting starting of display from the outside.

    摘要: In a variable frequency divider capable of N+1/2 frequency division, a programmable frequency divider alternately frequency-divides an input signal by a frequency division ratio N (N being an integer) or by a frequency division ratio N+1. A first signal generating circuit generates a first signal in synchronism with an output signal of the programmable frequency division circuit. A second signal generating circuit generates a second signal which is identical to the first signal but delayed by half a period of the input signal. An output circuit alternately selects the first and second signals, and outputs the selected signal as frequency-divided signal. A delay circuit outputs a delayed signal identical to the first signal but delayed by one period of the input signal. A preset signal generating circuit alternately selects the delayed signal and the first signal, and presets the programmable frequency division circuit with the selected signal. The programmable frequency divider used may operate at the same speed as in N frequency division.
