The present invention relates to a method for producing a pseudopolyrotaxane, including: an inclusion step of mixing a polyethylene glycol and a cyclodextrin in an aqueous medium to form an aqueous dispersion of pseudopolyrotaxane that contains pseudopolyrotaxane particles in which the polyethylene glycol is included in the cavities of the cyclodextrin molecules in a skewered manner; and a drying step of drying the aqueous dispersion of pseudopolyrotaxane produced in the inclusion step to obtain the pseudopolyrotaxane. In the drying step, the aqueous dispersion of pseudopolyrotaxane is dried in a thin film state.

The present invention provides a method for producing a methylene disulfonate compound including reacting, in the presence of an acid and a dehydrating agent, a formaldehyde compound with at least one salt of alkanedisulfonic acid selected from the group consisting of alkali metal salts of alkanedisulfonic acid and alkaline earth metal salts of alkanedisulfonic acid each represented by a specific formula. According to the method of the present invention, a methylene disulfonate compound can be obtained in a simple manner at low cost.

The method includes the steps of polymerizing a water-soluble ethylenic unsaturated monomer using a water-soluble radical polymerization initiator, optionally in the presence of a crosslinking agent, to obtain a water-absorbent resin particle precursor, adding a post-crosslinking agent to crosslink a surface of the particle, adding an amorphous silica particle and adjusting the resulting particle to a moisture content of less than 10%, and subsequently adding moisture to adjust a final moisture content of the resulting particle to 10 to 20%.

The present invention also provides a coating composition containing the polyolefin-based composite resin spherical particle and a coating resin, and a coated article obtained by applying the coating composition to a substrate.The invention relates to a polyolefin-based composite resin spherical particle, which is a spherical particle obtained by mixing 100 parts by mass of a polyolefin-based resin, 40 to 1,500 parts by mass of water, and 3 to 30 parts by mass of an ethylene oxide/propylene oxide copolymer having a weight average molecular weight of 4,000 to 30,000 to prepare a mixture, emulsifying the mixture at a temperature of the highest melting point of the polyolefin-based resin or higher, and cooling the mixture from a temperature at least 25° C. higher than the highest crystallization temperature of the polyolefin-based resin to a temperature at least 25° C. lower than the lowest crystallization temperature of the polyolefin-based resin at a cooling speed of 0.2° C./min or more, wherein the polyolefin-based resin is a composite resin containing 5 to 70% by mass of a partially saponified ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer.
